Masonville Manor Retirement Residence

Masonville Manor is a very welcoming and warm environment. So much so that my Father is feeling excited to move there by the end of the month from another retirement home he is currently in ( I'll be nice and discreet and not mention who that place is , but it's not far away from Masonville Manor ). They invited both my Dad and I for dinner and it was excellent ( and I'm a picky eater ). So check this place out.

I have had the absolute pleasure of spending everyday over the last year with the amazing residents that call this place home, working for a team that works together like a family is amazing, having understanding leaders who are always there to listen and to teach I can’t thank them enough, watching residents come together and play games or whatever activities planned for the day, I love being able to work here and continue to learn and grow!

In my experience as a volunteer, I have found the staff to be engaging with residents, co-workers and volunteers alike. Programming / activities for the residents are organized with great care. Masonville Manor is tidy, spacious and they offer delicious meals too!

I have been doing sing alongs with the residents and it is always the highlight of my week. The staff always greet me with a smile and kind words. The residents are so appreciative and I love seeing their faces light up when the piano gets pulled out. It is such a pleasant place to be and I look forward to continuing this service for the residents.

The wage you offer employees for serving and cleaning is $15.50/hrBonus; free or discounted food" Are you kidding me? thats a slap in the face!Likely a mention since you don't pay a living wage.Scary how you can be so cheap."

Its a business...they don't care bout your loved ones only making money...President/ CEO used to run Canadian Tire ....it's just a numbers game to them...they're out to make money for themselves and share holders...nothin else....think the boss would have experience with the elderlynot just tires .I feel foreveryone living in thier homes

My name is Meagan and I'm a full time server here currently. I've worked here for nearly a full year and have learned a lot of great things and met wonderful people because of it.This is a home for not only our residents but also for the staff. We puts as much care and love into our team as we do our residents which is so different and refreshing in a job. It's hard work but it's so worth it to see our residents laughing and smiling each day. Getting to hear their stories and history is such a gift to have.We are not perfect people and when we faulter we take accountability in out actions and learn and grow from them to better care for our residents. This is a job that grows with you and the more you put in the more you get and, that's something I love about Masonville.

A year ago we thought the only option for my grandmother might be a nursing home as it was clear she could no longer live on her own. We are so happy we checked out Masonville Manor first! It was the perfect amount of support to allow her to continue to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.It has a cozy homey" feel instead of some of the other ones that felt so clinical. Their activity calendar is always full of so many different types of things to do. The staff have been fabulous - they really get to know the residents

Driver is rude. Blocked a car in a handicap spot and was rude when asked politely to move. Drove ahead arrogantly barely making room for the car to back out of it's spot. I overheard him bad mouthing the senior who had asked him to move to the residents in the van. If this is how the staff behave outside of the residence I can only imagine what goes on inside closed doors.

The place is good for clients. However, my couple of friends are working over there, they were hired by saying to working with concierge department however now they are serving or in cleaning department, which is not fair. I am pretty sure that they are good at their work, however it’s the recruitment who ensures for concierge and then shift to some else. Need to change.
