Hey Chefz (嘿-鐵板堂)

Got the chicken curry katsu omurice and it was definitely good. There isn't many places to get good curry katsu in Waterloo so I'm glad I found out that this place does. It isn't as good as some places like katsuya in the GTA but definitely the best in Waterloo/Kitchener area.

Noodle is good. However I was very disappointed in the beef tongue. I ordered one side of beef tongue. And as I was eating it, I found half of it is actually just beef and not beef tongue. (See photo). I'd expect if I ordered beef tongue, it'd have all beef tongue and not half filled with beef. It was a take out order so there's no way for me to go back and ask about it.

PLEASE READ!!Never go to this place. My friend and I both. got noodles with brisket. Food tasted fine until 5 minutes into it. All of a sudden we both started to feeling a weird tingling feeling that was also making our mouth and lips numb. It made us lose our tastebuds. At this point we were a few bites into it and we immediately stoped after we realized that this was extremely weird since no type of spice should feel like a lip pluming cream is in your mouth. We thought the whole situation was odd so we left out portions and we were super confused as we have never had food make us feel this particular sensation. We were disappointed in the food but we didn’t care that much since each portion was just $16 so we just decided we wouldn’t return. We also called the store and asked why it made our whole mouth numb and she said it was some pepper in it. However that’s is not our main concern.The same evening my friend and I both started experiencing a very bad sore throat.The following morning we both started to feel fatigue, chest pains, and extreme discomfort and even coughing up blood.The reason im sure that it is from this food is because 1)we both felt the exact same symptoms and 2) we started to feel progressively worse symptoms shortly after eating the food.I am honestly worried because the symptoms are not of the same nature as food positioning and are much more severe. I don’t know what was in that food……..

Noodle soup was very good and flavourful, good portions of both noodles and meat. Definitely recommend.

Have only ordered take outs from here. Love their noodle soup! They have a good variety of menu for you to choose from.

Chose this place randomly and it turned out amazing. The noodle soup tasted authentic, tender meat and a deep broth. Truly a hidden gem

We had just eaten but decided to try the sliced beef teppan pepper rice. I can't speak about the other food but the price of this dish does not match the portion. Other places in the building were pretty busy and this place just had us so I wondered if the prices here are higher. The dish was nice and flavourful but I think the entire flavour comes from the sauce which is poured on the meat and rice while it cooks.Something I noticed and not only stading here to order but later while sitting, a strong, very strong smell of a cleaning product. The smell is every where and I believed the entire place (all the building, main floor that has all the little restaurants) was cleaned with such product. This could be a real hazard and specially to those who work there and are exposed to that smell for so long

The portion is huge. I like that noodle and the takoyaki! They are good. I actually could not finish the noodle in 1 day cuz it is a lot! The beef is a little salty, but it will get less salty if u put it in the soup for few min, and eat it with the noodle! I dont really like the chicken feet, it still has a bit smell on it and it is not spicy enough (just my opinion!!!). overall, good place to order food!

This was an okay place for a noodle soup.... The beef brisket was really good in flavorful but I felt like the soup broth was missing something I tried to add a little bit of soy sauce but it didn't really help that being said the noodles were good the egg was good and the meat was good it was just the broth that kind of Let me down

No.1 Chinese restaurant in Waterloo! The food is incredible and reasonably priced. Highly recommend the spicy rice noodles and omurice!
