Hush City Soundproofing

Thanks to Peter and the rest of the team. They consulted and supplied products on our build to properly soundproof the basement rental suite in our new home.With their guidance and products we were able to achieve the soundproofing we had hoped for. It was great to work with everyone at Hush City. From Darcy who helped me work out the best solution to soundproof between upper and lower suites in my rental house to all the folks I had contact with throughout the process. The job has just been completed so I don’t yet know how well it will work, but my initial sense is that it will be a vast improvement.

I ordered a custom sized In-Line Silencer while we've been renovating our basement as I wanted to reduce sound transmission through the vent both out of the office, as well as into the office from the shared heating trunk that the 4 rooms connect to.I can say now that I've had the ceiling insulated with fiberglass, and the walls insulated with rockwool, with Sonopan installed on all walls and ceiling followed by Resilient channel on the ceiling, and then 5/8 drywall

We had a great experience dealing with Hush City for a residential job in Vancouver. The soundproofing results between floors were excellent, and communications with the contractor and the Hush City main office always went smoothly. The initial estimate outlined two options that varied in price and effectiveness. We eventually opted for the 'full' treatment with safe-and-sound, hat-track, green glue between two layers of drywall, and acoustic sealant. Very happy with the results. After going through the process, I must say I was surprised at the number of moving parts and skilled laborers needed to get it all done: demolition, insulation, installation of the acoustically isolated hat-track, drywallers, painters, etc. Additionally we were getting the floor updated so there were some tricky logistics that they were able to accommodate. I have no reservations recommending Hush City.

Hush City helped me get sound proof blankets to my exact design requirements. They were very helpful in the order process and take pride in what they deliver. I am planning some more sound proof work and will definitely go to them again.

I received excellent service from Rhonda at Hush City about soundproofing a room in my residence. She was able to recommend the right products, which turn out to be better quality and not as expensive as what the chain stores and global retailers were offering.

I soundproofed a 9x11 foot glass wall. The installers did an excellent job and the product works as described. I was pleasantly surprised that the new windows look like they have always been there and were part of the initial construction. They only take up an inch or so and fit well within the window sill. Low and medium frequencies are muted and higher frequencies are harder to hear. There is also the additional benefit of improved insulation. The windows make an enormous difference for a downtown suite. Be prepared to do a little bit of drywall repair here and there.

Hush City is very friendly and helpful, even with tricky situations and limitations in my room they managed to get everything done, I definitely recommend Hush City and will contact them in the future for sure!

Dealing with Darcy at Hush City has been amazing. Our son is a very light sleeper and we are doing a room renovation to improve the sound proofing on exterior walls. I did a ton of research but at the end of the day still had questions about which products and wall systems work the best and how I could spend money most efficiently. Darcy was able to answer all my questions, explain how products stack up against each other, he had a ton of knowledge with HVAC, windows, and wall systems, and was able to source all the material I needed. He also saved me from making a big error by explaining the triple leaf effect and saved me money by explaining some sound theory and actions I would have taken that would not have returned the results I was hoping for.
