A fantastic experience at Robertson Optical & Optometry. The eye exam was comfortable and every step was explained clearly. The technicians in the front were second to none in both sharing their knowledge of the products they support and their “no pressure” sales approach. We will be happy to continue to have this team of professionals look after our eye care needs.

A bit of a unique scenario, but one that could have been handled better. I went in as a new patient in 2021 and had an eye condition that required a referral. I was told at that time to come back in for my prescription once the condition resolved. I tried to come back in in 2022 and was told that since it had been over a year I would have to pay for a new appointment. Because my coverage is only for every other year this is not a possibility for me... So all in all, my 2021 appointment was not completed with a prescription and I was refused a prescription a year later without a new eye appointment, which I was told I would have to pay for again since it had been a year - despite the fact that when I was told to come back for prescription I was not given an expiration date. Pretty disappointed because I now urgently need glasses as they're falling apart... What is great about Robertson Optical is their friendly service, but I do think they could have offered me a free" repeat eye exam and prescription since my original exam was left incomplete and I was given no expiration on when I could come back in to complete it. I also had to make note to follow-up with them: I left a voice message asking for assistance on Monday

Nice. But useless. I went to get a temp pair of contacts well I setup an eye appointment. They would not sell me a pair without a eye prescription. No wonder so many people buy online. One more local place I will not visit again. Clearly.

Krisata and Jeanette are outstanding! They take the time to make you feel important and valued. Bend over backwards to accomodate your needs. Jeanette is extremely knowledgeable friendly and warm. I was at a different optician in ladner and always felt like a new customer each time I went in and I was there for 5 years. I switched to Robertson and so pleased that I did. Friendly, warm and inviting. Not to mention quality products. Thank you Krista and Jeanette

They've always been fantastic for myself and I'm continuously pleasantly surprised by how much their optometrists understand about the effects that some of my (commonly misunderstood) health conditions can have on eyes. Today I took my almost 23month old toddler in for their first eye exam and it was a fantastic experience. You never know how these firsts" are going to go with a toddler and every staff member at Robertson Optical made it a really great experience for my toddler and myself. They even helped keep her busy while I shopped for glasses. Overall a really great experience for us both!"

I have been a customer at Robertson Optical for over 10 years. I have had multiple eye exams done with them, purchased lenses, a year’s supply of contact lenses on multiple occasions, so I have given them a good amount of business. I had a contact lens fitting done there a few years back (eye scan done with a machine to determine characteristics of the eyes to ascertain which contact lenses are the most suitable). At that time, they just recommended a particular contact lens which are daily use only. I have now started using monthly use contact lenses instead, and due to some comfort issues, I wanted to determine if the ones I’ve been using are the best suited for my eyes or if there are better choices available.Contact lenses have specific “base curve” and “diameter” properties and must be chosen based on the base curve and diameter of one’s eyes. The base curve and diameter of one’s eyes is information that is typically specified on a contact lens prescription, but when I had the test done, I was not given this information. I phoned in this week and explained the situation and the information I was looking for, and got attitude right off the bat, they seemed to think I was just going to buy the contacts I needed online and did not want to help. She was not interested in listening to me, kept interrupting, and when I asked if she could find my results in the system from the test I’d originally had done in order to give me the information I was looking for, she didn’t want to bother herself to do that and instead wanted me to come back in and pay for another test! I told her straight up that she was not being helpful and that her attitude was not acceptable but she does not care about feedback and providing good customer service.The most ridiculous part of all this is that the information I was asking for is information I should have been given WHEN I ORIGINALLY HAD THE TEST DONE!! The only thing they gave me when I had the test done was a printout from the machine with many numbers and properties that only someone trained in the field would understand. Apparently “I shouldn’t have been given this” and “she did not have time to explain it”. She was extremely unhelpful, it sounded like she thought I was just going to buy the contacts I needed online, even though I have bought contacts from them before (just not every single time I’ve ever needed them). I likely would have bought them from her again this time if she had been more helpful, given me the information I needed, and the prices were somewhat competitive. Where I was going to buy the contacts from is completely irrelevant anyway because the information I was requesting from them was regarding a test that I already had done WITH THEM, and paid for!!!I’ll likely have to pay for another scan again to get the information I need, information that I should have been given when I had the test done the first time. If I get another scan done, rest assured it will not be with Robertson Optical. I will never set foot in that place again.Do not give companies like this your business, they don’t care about their customers, only about continuously extracting as much money from people as they possibly can. These people should just retire.

Had a lovely experience here after needing an emergency appointment. The receptionist was so kind and helpful when I called and when I arrived. The optometrist was also kind, thorough and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend and will go back for future eye exams.

I won't go into lengthly details, however I am quite happy with my experiences at Robertson Optical to date.I appreciate the human quality they have and never feel like I am supplying a money hungry machine. I also like that they do not rush you through anything and give you plenty of attention when it is your turn.As a business, which they are, they are very upfront about costs and product times and overall, I feel happy to support a local business.

Unfortunately, we did not have an all around positive experience. Our family was new to Ladner and in need of eye exams. Booking was easy and the optometrist was excellent in every way. Sadly, our experience was downhill from there. I inquired about contact lenses and was asked if I wear them. I explained that I have for 6+ years but since the pandemic (I work in healthcare with direct patient contact) I elected to forgo contacts for a while). I was ordered some trial lenses and thought that was that. I then revived a phone call saying they had arrived but I must book an appointment for a lesson on how to wear contacts. I explained I have worn them for several years and that it wouldn’t be necessary. (If this is a clinic policy I was not informed of such policy). I finally gave in and said if we could book an eye exam for my son and come at the same time I would oblige they agreed and booked us both. I arrived with my son for his eye exam which was relatively quick as he was only 6 months old. I then proceeded to wait at least 15 minutes past my contact appointment time as the contact lens person was with another customer. I asked the lady at the front desk if I could just take the lenses, she went and retrieved them but was confused as there were only 3 boxes not 4. When she asked the contacts person why there were only 3 and not 4, she looked over at me and in what was perceived as a very condescending, loud and accosting tone said “Tara was told to book an appointment for those”. I explained that I had booked an appointment only a week ago, with her on the phone. The lady at the front desk asked if I could wait a little longer or come back later. Unfortunately, my baby was now due for his nap and I was to say the very least, extremely uncomfortable with the way I was treated. I proceeded home and ordered contacts online. We love to support local business and even though the optometrist was wonderful, we will not be returning to Robertson for our eye health and eye wear needs in the future.

My extra pair of glasses which I bought at a low cost competitor had one temple piece that broke. I was told by the optician at Robertson that I should go back to the optician and get a replacement. Well, that didn't work. Time delay, branch closed and not very helpful. So, I went back to see Krista and Jeanette and the latter said she would look for appropriate temple pieces. Got a call yesterday and she had found two temple pieces that went well withg the glasses. A fraction of the cost that the low cost optician" would have charged me. Again
