Wore my soles right down. Came in for a full restoration and got a better than new boot back!! 100% would recommend Max for shoe repair, big or small :)

Best Cobbler period! Not only was he fast, he put a thick patch in the back of my boots, stitched it in and matched the original stitch holes! Beautiful workmanship and service.

The best cobblers in town! I brought a beloved old pair of boots and even my wedding shoes to Max and he did a wonderful job of restoring my favourite kicks AND giving me the perfect wedding day shoes ready for the dance floor, mirror shine included! These folks are lovely and clearly skilled and passionate about their work. It's so great to realize we have a great cobbler in town and these folks will be my go-to to take care of my shoes for years to come!

Excellent service. Super friendly staff. I had a pair of grubbly grey deck shoes dyed navy. I came back to what looked like a whole new pair of shoes. Beautiful rich colour, and they had even taken the time to clean the while soles as much as possible. Highly recommend.

Max's Shoe Repair, Saved my feet, I relie on my Dr. Martens for comfort of my feet calves and ankles as i wear a brace on one leg, these are the only boots that accommodate my leg brace, The zipper broke on both sides of the boot and Dr. Martens company could not my boot anymore, so I had a really hard time finding a suitable cobbler in Ottawa most to all places only repair Plastic Zippers. Until I found Max's shop on wellington street, he was so great professional and explained to me the options of the different zippers price and quality (went with quality as they are Dr. Martens) picked them up a week later, and they are just like brand new, he was even able to put the Dr. Marten zipper latch on the new zippers. THANK YOU MAX and family exceptional job and such care and detail.

I brought Max a leather messenger bag with a broken buckle that was damaged after slipping on ice and landing on it in the winter. The company that made it no longer exists, and I had poor luck previously getting other parts of it repaired (strap buckle, seams holding the handle's shank). Max looked into it, and was able to find a remarkably similar piece of hardware and file down the other half enough to have it clasp closed fully. (I'm not doing a great job describing the time he put into this, so just look at the photos.)Max, Sonia and Nikita are incredibly communicative, polite, and kind; to my experience, Max is the best cobbler in the national capital region, and you can trust him to keep your shoes in good shape for years to come (as well as to teach you a thing or two along the way!). I can't speak to other's allegedly negative experiences, but I can say that there's nowhere else I could recommend more for the work they perform. Max has reheeled and resoled several pairs of Allen Edmonds for me now (one of which I had stupidly started to wear into the heel block itself), and has made them look brand new again with lavishly painted JR soles, or Dainite for when you want something more water-friendly; they also offer Lulu and Triumph toe taps! Finally, they also sell an incredible selection of Saphir products at much better prices than you'll find online.Thanks again for the great job, Max and family - you know I'll be back before long!

Really friendly folks! But unfortunately they do not mirror shine polish military DEU parade boots.

Ok, I did not get any services done here but I took a brand new pair of sexy John Fluevog shoes in to get a Topy(sp?) layer on the sole. The gentleman working there advised me that doing so would void the warranty and also recommended that I fully break in the shoe first as it would be more flexible without the layer which wound make the break in period last longer.Excellent customer service and I will definitely bring any leather needs here.
