Big Tobacco exceeds every single expectation I had of it. To me, it's THE gourmet experience of Hamilton. I was here for a special occasion and got the Grand Tasting Menu. Every single dish we had was a combination unique, top notch ingredients and masterful cooking, with beautiful presentation to match. We had 7 courses of what I'd consider to be ambrosia presenting a whole range of different flavors and at the end I could barely keep my belt on. With no hyperbole, this is the best cuisine experience in Hamilton to my knowledge. The restaurant was also tastefully decorated and quite intimate. There was no obnoxious blasted music which made it easier to talk and enjoy your company. I also liked the decor inside. We had the whiskey tasting to match and the selection presented was top notch. The chef and our delightful server explained every dish and every drink. I would definitely come back here to enjoy this again.

Amazing food. One of the best meals I've ever had for a ridiculously reasonable price. Service was slow to start but very attentive once the meal was rolling. I tried the taster menu for one and it was so much amazing food. The beets, were sweet and perfectly done, Brussels sprouts had a very subtle and suave taste. The truffle gnocchi was amazing and creamy and the breaded pork chop with cream of spinach may be one of my favorite dishes ever. The dessert fit perfectly with some complimentary whiskey and was sweet and flavourful without being too sweet and tiring by the end.

We were blown away by the food and service. Seriously the best meal we've ever had!! We went for our anniversary and opted for the chefs tasting menu. We got to try the lamb, duck, truffle ravioli, beef cheek and pork belly! Each dish was intricately prepared using local ingredients. I absolutely love how the chef comes to the table to describe and talk about each dish. We ended the dinner with their salted caramel dessert. I'm still dreaming of it, heavenly! I can't wait to go back!!

Interesting place near Hess village in Hamilton. My wife and I we here with another couple for a nigh ton the town. We arrived and were seated promptly, however the waiter took a very long time to come over and take our drink order. Once he had our drink order he forgot about us and our drinks, luckily the hostess was able to get us our drinks so our evening could begin. The food was tapas style and we shared various menu items among the four of us. The food was all very delicious and I would go back to try some other items off their menu. All in all great evening, I would suggest the owners hire some additional staff as it was just the hostess and the waiter working the front of the house.

One of the best meal experiences I've had recently in Hamilton. And there are lots of options these days. We were welcomed into this cozy space and menu recommendations were made. We decided to have the Family Tasting Menu paired with the Whiskey Tasting Menu.Nic was awesome and walked is through each menu tasting, both plate and whiskey.Starting with a little southern hospitality, we were offered a taste of Writers Tears, on the house to get us started. Cheddar house made biscuits, followed by a beet and ricotta salad...We scraped the bowl. Four roses bourbon paired well with the Hot Chicken in white bread served with house-made pickles. The buttermilk soaked chicken was crispy and juicy with some heat.Next was the short ribs served on a pumpkin puree. The meat was fork tender and delicious. Definitley our favourite dish. Dessert was a honey cake with vanilla cream served in a pool of salted caramel sauce.Service was impeccable and friendly. Nic proved to be quite knowledgable and happy to share thoughts on his whiskey offerings. They are planning to do some whiskey tastings in the future. Love that idea. Call ahead for a reservation just in case. They also carry several craft beers and wines for those who prefer a non whiskey choice. Can't wait to go back!

Amazing service and excellent food.While this seems to be one of the more expensive places in Hamilton, it feels totally worth it. There are 3 menus: drinks, kids, and set menu. They said they change the set menu every night. The one I had tonight (Thursday) was fabulous. I'm usually not one to love fatty meats, but this duck was flavorful and not chewy. The squash actually makes me want to eat more squash in my diet, which says a lot.That said, I wasn't as blown away by the biscuits as everyone else seems to be. It was good, but nothing earth shattering.The waitress was phenomenal. The menu was 7 courses" (but 3 came at once)

Best food I've ever had at a restaurant! These guys are amazing and it's worth every penny! Brendan, the head chef, created every mouthwatering morsel on the menu. They source all their ingredients and beers locally. My fiancee and I usually get 3-4 items and split them between the two of us. They're just too good to enjoy alone and you'll want to have more than one thing on their menu. They have a chef's tasting menu that's great too if you want a good taste of what this place offers.Nic, the owner, is amazing and will make your experience wonderful. Everybody there is super friendly and easy to strike up a conversation with. The atmosphere is amazing too with a warm and inviting feel to it. You have to try this place if you are in or around Hamilton!

Thank you to the owners and staff for making our private event amazing. The food was 10/10 and the service was some of the best we’ve ever had in Hamilton. Amanda our hostess was so attentive and wonderful. She created amazing drinks and kept the atmosphere 10/10. Her vast knowledge of the menu and specialty drinks was very impressive. She was professional, the restaurant was clean and our party was amazing. Our guests left impressed. Many from out of town who now rave about this establishment. We can’t wait to go back! Big Tobacco has a New Years Eve sitting at 7:00pm. We had made reservations for 5:45pm. When they called I was expecting them to say that they were unavailable to meet our reservation because of the single sitting they had. Much to my surprise they accommodated us as the only patrons at 5:45 so that we would be able to make our evening plans.The service from there was nothing but outstanding. Amanda our hostess/waitress was kind and knowledgeable, and made some great recommendations for the evening. The cooks made food that was beyond words. Our table was speechless for most of the meal as we enjoyed our multiple courses. The ambiance was great, the music met our tastes perfectly and was loud enough to be heard in the background, but still allow us a chance to have a good conversation.I am looking forward to returning to Big Tobacco Kitchen & Whiskey for many more delicious meals. It is worth the drive from just about anywhere.
