Fairway Gorge Paddling Club

Possibly one of the best facilities and certainly the most diverse, active and FUN paddling club in the city!

Friendly and professional staff. Great facility. Beautiful waterway. I even saw seals and a blue heron. You can rent a kayak or SUP here, and if you're really keen you can join a dragon boat team or outrigger team!

Awesome coaches, very positive experience stepping back into a paddling family. I have missed it very much. Can't say enough about the feeling of fun and fitness.

The location is perfect and the affiliated gym facility offers training classes to improve your fitness, whether you're a paddler or not.You can join the club to get involved long term or just show up to rent a kayak or SU paddle board.Located on the Gorge next to the amazing Glo Restaurant.

FGPC has been around for many years, originally under the banner of Go Rowing and Paddling, now sponsored by Fairway Foods. It is a non-profit which is well-supported by the community. It is now focused exclusively on a range of paddling sports, including outrigger canoe, dragon boat, kayak, paddle boards, V1 and K1 canoes.In the past, the club has spawned an offshoot club. Despite that, the number of paddlers and programs are growing. New boats are being added and an expansion of docks and facilities is underway.While there are elite programs and excellent coaching, there is a place for everyone at FGPC, from beginner / recreational to high-performance / elite levels. The club is open year-round, to make use of our mild Pacific climate.

I say good recreation for nature lovers and slow walking jogging guys. The restaurant nearby is also a good one for couple of dishes but watch out , its pricey

**This review is not based on my dogs not being allowed in the kayak, I understand rules are in force, the review is about the service i received from the owner**I had called the day before to ask if my dogs would be allowed in the kayak as they love coming kayaking. I spoke with a male who said that wasn’t a problem, just make sure they have life jackets. We were looking forward to going out, paid $9 in parking and went inside with the dogs on leads in their PFD’s. Was told when we walked in I was not allowed to bring them in the kayaks, and then was told “No you spoke with me I told you you weren’t allowed” I explained I spoke with a man he said it was fine and was confused, he continued to argue that he told me no and basically I was lying about the phone convo until he realized I had spoke with Marcus and apparently Marcus was not familiar with dogs not being allowed in the kayaks. He was rude and condescending and acted as if I was trying to be sneaky and bring them anyways. Found another kayak rental company that allowed dogs and day was not ruined by his attitude.

Terrible. Bought a groupon for this rental place and showed up only to be turned away due to lack of staff. Came back the next day after being told to come back and guaranteed a rental kayak and then got turned away again due to group bookings. Through it all had to pay 15$ in parking because I expected to be kayaking for 2 hours both times. This place is very unprofessional and I would not recommend this business to anyone.
