City Shoe Repair

My wife bought me a gorgeous leather briefcase about five years ago. On a business trip to the USA, I attempted to use it as a travel bag, which it is not, and the clasp broke away from the case rendering it unable to close. I have taken my briefcase to several repair shops in the city where I reside and, over the years, here in Toronto. I found only rude service and disappointment elsewhere. Several repair shops asked me if I was idiotic while all others told me to throw my briefcase into a garbage can or dumpster, telling me that it was broken beyond repair.Earlier this week, I tried again. I went to City Shoe Repair at the Eglinton Station subway level. I was not treated rudely. My mental state was not brought into question. What was said was that my briefcase could be repaired and ready the next day for $15 plus HST. I was delighted and even more so when I saw the quality of the workmanship. I had a fabulous experience here and one which I will remember every time I use my bag.

Needed two pairs of boots repaired and cleaned, speedy job was done the next day!

The owner did an amazing job at cleaning my sneakers. They were in pretty bad shape, but looked almost brand new when he was done with them.

Great place: the man who runs it is very polite and brief. He repaired some tears in my blundstones and returned them within 2 days and cleaned them up.

Such a wonderful little place run by an older couple. I brought in some older quasi forgotten leather boots that I had mistreated (badly) - the leather was cracked, dry, the heels were all but gone. I brought them in, he gave them a quick glance over, told me the price for replacing the heel and cleaning the boots up and three days later I was in possession of my beautifully restored boots. They did a wonderful job quickly and for a great price - I will definitely be coming here again!

Yes, he's still there after 25 years!! 2nd floor @ Eglinton/Yonge Subway; 9am-5pm Monday thru Friday. Great prices, excellent work, and always up for a challenge.~ long-time customer
