Vintage Hardwood Flooring
An absolute nightmare, this company will find the consumer at fault before looking at any problems with their product. I was so happy with the type of flooring I ordered and hoped that I would later buy more to continue the Jatoba Harwood throughout the three levels of our house. It was more expensive than other flooring, but I was trying to find a Canadian company that appeared to have regard for the environment when harvesting the raw material.Within two weeks of the install, the floor immediately started to show cracks. I contacted my dealer here in Winnipeg, MB (The Floor Show). They came out twice then called Vintage Flooring who investigated the issue for the next two years. After two short, biased , and dismissive visits, Vintage disallowed my warranty based on an unusual cold Winnipeg winter". The representative is also the sales rep for these floors

We are very excited to install Vintage Etched Maple Maldives in our home. After visiting the plant and seeing the product in production I know first hand that the quality is of the utmost concern. I also have an understanding that wood is a living product and needs to remain stable to protect the wood and finish from cracking so no extreme humidity and temperature swings! It is unfortunate that some consumers don't realize that and then fault the product. The National Wood Flooring Association has lots of great information if you are looking to purchase a wood floor!

I covered the majority of the main floor of my home with Vintage Flooring's Hickory Mesquite Pioneered Collection (about 1600 sq. ft. in total) during a total home renovation before I moved in. The flooring was purchased through Oakville Flooring and installed by Oakville Flooring contractors. About 3 weeks after I moved in, the flooring started to cup. Because of the cupping the edges of the floor started to wear very quickly in the heavy traffic areas. I contacted Oakville Flooring, who eventually sent a person out to inspect it and they agreed that the flooring was cupping and would revisit me with a representative from Vintage. Both parties returned to inspect the flooring and the Vintage took some moisture and humidity readings. Since the contractors were working during the install, the air conditioning was not on because they were in and out, and had doors and windows open. The humidity reading when the Vintage Floor rep was there was a little high at about 52%. Both the Vintage Flooring rep and the Oakville Flooring rep claimed that there was nothing they could do for me. I asked the Vintage Flooring person if they plant and warehouse was climate controlled, which it isn't. So in my opinion, this flooring could have been exposed to high humidity before it was ever purchased.

We normally don’t submit reviews, but in this case I just had to. Very very disappointed in this product. If I could rate it a negative rating I would. We purchased engineered hardwood flooring 4 years ago. We purchased this product because of the reputation (?) and warranty that Vintage has. But, unfortunately we were fooled. One year after they were installed we started seeing waves throughout the floors. After further inspection we noticed that there were cracks on some of the planks and the floor looked like they were cupping. We contacted the company where we purchased them and they came to inspect. They noted all the issues and advised that they would check to see if there was a recall, “not to worry they have a 25 year warranty” on their product….however we never heard back. I sent them a couple of emails …..again never heard back. I decided to contact Vintage directly. I sent them emails of photos showing the problems. After a few weeks they replied indicating that there was nothing wrong with their product and that there was nothing they could do???!!! So, what happened to their warranty, obviously they don’t stand by their product. They didn’t even come by to check, they just based their opinions and conclusions on a couple of photos. Be warned, the company does not stand by their product. If I had to do it again I would NEVER purchase this product.

When a company says your product is to be delivered 2-3 weeks from the date you purchase then naturally that's what you should expect. What you don't expect is Vintage tells you your product ships, and 2 weeks later its still sitting on a loading dock in Ontario. Now we are 8 days away from an installation schedule followed by other trades, and your told the product still wont leave for another week, plus its still going to take 2-3 weeks to deliver..... Am I wrong to say this is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Why did we pay extra for delivery? Where is the communication? If you knew the product was 6 weeks away then just tell us that. We could have rearranged the schedule, or gone with a different product completely. Overall not very impressed with Vintage's lack of transparency or honesty.

We absolutely love our hardwood! We have had Vintage hardwood installed in our past two homes, and we were totally impressed both times. The first time we went with Black Walnut and the second time we chose Hickory with a Moorea stain. Both products were high quality with nice long board lengths - they looked absolutely beautiful. We also loved the fact that the products were Canadian. Highly recommend!!

Poor quality floor, paid 12.00 sq ft for a 5inch hand scraped hardwood floor. Boards are peeling, boards are cracking. They are blaming it on water damage and our dog. They do not stand behind their product. Stain comes off when wiping the floor using their recommended cleaning product. Will never buy their products!

Ordered the Vintage hardwood floor cleaner online. 3 bottles with free S&H. The parcel arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. Delivered to my door cheaper than I could have bought it locally!

I have been in the hardwood trade over 30 years and have installed about every brand in the market. Our company does about 200 floors per year. Quality of this flooring is one of the best and milling is superior to most. I notice most negative reviews are from people without much knowledge on wood flooring. All wood floors change color due to sunlight and oxidation, all wood floors expand and contract with humidity changes, all wood floors are prone to water damage and all wood dents and scratches. We have installed over 200,000 sq. ft. of Vintage products with 0 claims. We will continue to sell this product and highly recommend!

I started installing Vintage Hardwood Flooring in 2005 while working with Deacon Flooring in London Ontario. I remember the product being so incredibly great that I returned home and asked all my other installer friends if they had seen or heard of Vintage. The response was great, everyone had heard this product was the best, however not many had installed it at that time because there was not a Vintage dealer in our area “Chatham-Kent”. Not long after I opened a retail flooring store and continued to sell and install what we believe to be one of the absolute best flooring products on the market today. We have product in our showroom for you to see, touch, feel, even cut or put together. If you are thinking about purchasing a Vintage floor (even if it’s not from us) I would love to help by answering any questions that you might have.
