Michael and Amy WCS Dance Classes

Michael and Amy create such a fun energy and positive learning environment in their classes. They are so welcoming and really make me feel right at ease as a newbie. They also teach a variety of levels, so no matter what experience you have, there’s always something to learn. Michael and Amy are prime examples of why I love the West Coast Swing community so much.. they love the dance, and they go out there to show people a good time and make them love it as much as they do. Highly recommended!! :)

I just started dance classes with Michael and Amy, and I'm loving it! Their approach to teaching is perfect - they make it friendly and relaxed, but at the same time their instructions are clear and easy to follow. I can tell that they're seeing every detail of what we do that can be improved, and wisely choose just a couple of things to focus on so that we don't get overwhelmed but still have concrete proof of how much we're improving. They're both very good teachers, and I look forward to my class every week. They've even inspired me to practice at home!

I've been learning West Coast Swing with Michael and Amy for over a year now and have loved every minute of it. They work will with all skill levels and make the classes fun. I'll continue taking more classes with them and improving my dancing.Just an update on this. I’ve take a couple refresher classes with Michael and Amy and they’ve helped me refine my dancing helping to take me to the next level of my dance.If you’re wishing to be able to get out and just dance, their classes are the ones to take. I go dancing fairly regularly now and always have such a great time!

Michael and Amy are incredible instructors! Having no previous dance background, they really made an effort to make me (and everyone) feel comfortable in the studio. They really focus on the fundamentals of West Coast Swing, which I have found out after several months of lessons, is so important to this style of dance. Each class is different, which makes it fun and interesting each week. They keep you engaged and excited to come back each week to learn more. They are also involved in the WCS dance community, so they are always informing the students about local social dance events and opportunities for us to further our learning and have some fun while doing it! I highly recommend taking lessons from Michael and Amy.

My husband and I joined Michael & Amy's WCS classes in Burnaby about 8 years ago. Initially my husband was reluctant, but in a few classes he learned enough WCS moves that he could lead with confidence and we actually enjoyed dancing. After a residential move, we tried swing dance classes elsewhere, but we missed Michael & Amy's competent, consistent yet fun teaching approach. So we were delighted to recently rejoin a class at the D2 Studio in Vancouver. Michael & Amy are amazing teachers and wonderful dancers!

Amy and Michael have build up a lovely community of dancers that welcomes beginners at all levels. Moreover, the instructors don't just break down dance moves, they really expose the essentials employed in WCS to become a more versatile dancer. What I love best is that more seasoned dancers participate in the beginner classes, which dramatically helps improve ones dancing and increases the fun factor.

I have been taking dancing classes here and there, but I love Michael and Amy classes the most. They are the instructors who love the dance, most importantly they really know how to teach. It must be that they are teaching with their heart， they want their students to have fun & succeed with whatever their goals are within it. I will definitely sign up again!

I've always been afraid to take dance classes but from my very first dance lesson with Michael and Amy I felt at ease and could concentrate learning. They do a great job teaching by keeping classes lighthearted, entertaining but challenging at the same time.Lastly, their pricing is really reasonable and you get significant discounts when you take repeated classes, which means you will generally see the same people in classes which really helps foster a sense of community.I would highly recommend their classes to other beginners who want to learn WCS.
