The Thompson Hotel & Conference Centre

We stayed 1 night heading from Alberta to the Island. It was a great place to stop with kids. They had a pool/hot tub and a large games room with arcade, pool, air hockey. It help get them off screens.It’s located by a major bus depot and rail tracks. It wasn’t very loud but you could hear the train.The Noble Pig - just the next building over was a delicious kinda Craft Brewery feel. Highly recommend.One downside - it might be in a sketchy part of town, so we skipped the covered parking and parked on the street.

After a terrible experience at one of the other hotels in Kamloops, we stopped in the Thompson Hotel. Instantly we were welcomed by a very pleasant staff member, and in a few minutes by the hotel's owner who overheard our conversation. We were offered a studio room at a discount price, the room was big and clean, the pool was warm and the water clear, the kids enjoyed a few games in the arcade, and the breakfast was delicious. Yes, it is an older hotel on the outside, but the inside is well maintained, clean, and the owner and staff are very pleasant and kind. I highly recommend the hotel to any family with kids who is looking for an enjoyable place to stay.

We held a surprise retirement dinner for our wonderful manager here and wanted to give out a HUGE thank you to the Thompson Hotel and conference center!They did all the decorating, provided an AMAZING taco bar and bartender. I had access to a microphone, sound system and a TV to show everyone the video we made her. This night couldn’t have been as spectacular without the ease of Pav, Sandy and their wonderful staff!!!The hotel offered rates for out of town guests, great parking options, perfect location downtown, the cost was really affordable (they worked with us to find options to meet our budget), and the facility offered such a sophisticated ambiance for our party.Thank you so much!!!HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you’re looking for a place to hold your gathering. We will definitely be using them again!

A solid selection for those who want to be downtown. With a parking lot at the back and trains passing by, some may find it a bit noisy, but the beds are cozy, the room was very clean, and the hotel staff was very nice. Also, a nice in-house pub specializing in great pizza while loads of restaurants, pubs, and shopping close by.

It may look basic outside however the rooms are good and comfortable. Really comfortable beds and pillows, rooms are really cleaned and well maintained. The hotel features a room with tons of classic arcade games and several snooker tables, it’s really fun. The location is also in central kamloops

I have stayed at the Thompson Hotel MANY times over the years and would always give it a thumbs up until the last 2 times I've stayed there. I had awful experiences with the staff, when I noticed the bathtub in the room I was in was not draining as my niece was having a shower I went downstairs to the front desk and was offered a bottle of draino to fix it myself. We brushed it off for that trip and decided to try another stay last week. The staff was very friendly and welcoming but when we got checked into our room and turned the AC on we got coverd in a black dust? Ash? Of done sort. It completely coverd the bed so we went down to the front desk. Without looking at what it was, he offered to change us rooms (which we did). Now this room... beds were rock hard.. there was a piece of lettuce in the AC.. small tiny bugs crawling all on the bathroom floor.. the ice bucket was dirty... We were so frustrated by this point that we just wanted to go rest in the pool/hottub area. The pool was SO cold that none of us could even enjoy it. When we told the front desk staff he did check and said that it did feel a little cold and would turn the temperature up (which I don't think he ever did). The $10 breakfast is an absolute joke! All the other times I've been to this hotel it has been free with our stay... just save yourself the money and walk behind the hotel to the tims! The staff in the kitchen was not very friendly especially when we had to keep asking for items (cream cheese, peanut butter, jam) nothing was left out. The pancakes were the frozen pancakes that you have to put in the toaster yourself. The bananas were brown the first morning than so green the second that we couldnt even peel them.... my English muffin and 2 sausages were not worth the money! I will NOT be staying here again and will NOT recommend this place to anyone!

Friendly and super helpful staff. Clean & modern rooms, everything you need for a comfortable & cozy stay. Complimentary parking included in your stay & free breakfast with gluten free & dairy free options, very impressed. I would definitely stay again/recommend to anyone in the area.

My grandkids wanted a Staycation with their Grandpa David , so we decided to book a family room at the Thompson Hotel. It was truly a wonderful experience. Upon check- in we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome by Dakota and Sandy . We checked into our room which was a beautiful 2 bedroom Suite , with grandpa having his our King bed and the grandkids with 2 queen beds. The room was well appointed , super pillows, and comfortable beds. We were surprised and very appreciated when a large basket full of treats was delivered to our room by Sandy and Dakota. The grandkids loved the pool/ hot tub and later the Front Office Attendant Giselle was very helpful in streaming a movie that we would watch in the theatre room. My grandkids loved the theatre room experience and can't wait to tell their friends at school. The following morning we had a great family breakfast again greeted by a smiling breakfast attendant . We could not ask for a better staycation and was so impressed on how the staff made everyone feel so welcomed. If you are looking for a family hotel i would recommend that you book at the Thomson Hotel. Thank you David Deol and Grandkids

Comfortable, clean room. Very quiet. Great for working remotely at the desk while on the road.Not happy with check-in. My reservation was made via my company travel booking and was fully paid for. When i explained I had a reservation, the clerk barely welcomed me then made me wait while he took a call and processed a reservation. Felt the customer in front of me got better service from the clerk, he took time to explain things to them, but with me was practically silent while processing my paperwork, which got stalled by another call. I had to ask questions about key things, instead of being informed like the previous customer. Not sure I'd choose to stay again for that reason.
