Hill Top Motel & Restaurant

Very basic, but ok for 1 night stop over. A few basic issues with our room but it was clean. Staff were pleasant and food in the restaurant was fine in the evening. Did not stop for breakfast.

Went to the restaurant service was great and the food was awesome. I had lasagna. Good job

Staff were incredibly friendly, place was packed. Unfortunately walls are pretty thing, bed wasn’t the most comfortable. Parking lot over crowded. Pet friendly is a plus, however the only grassy area to take your pet to relieve itself is a bit of a slope and could be a bit dangerous to those with mobility issues. Nice view of the falls. It was overpriced for what we got compared to what we have paid elsewhere, but overall a decent spot in the area!

Perfect location to stop overnight on our trip from the Durham Region, ON to Halifax, NS. Service was friendly and organized. Rooms were secure, clean, and had everything we needed for one night. TV, fridge, Kuerig, and WiFi worked great, and air conditioning was nice & cold. Parking was easy. The surrounding area gave us what we needed to hit the road the next day, and being close to the falls was nice. The only issue we had was a clogged toilet at 6am, with no way to get help (front desk not in at that time). We got creative to solve the problem but really wished more than anything there was a plunger in the bathroom... seems simple to do for each room. We would happily stay at this location again, on our next trip out East.

Lucky little stop for the night. Super friendly staff for the hotel as well as restaurant. Clean quiet room. Amazing meal. Would absolutely plan to stop by again. Slightly dated but in great condition and super clean. Recommend the balcony rooms

BED BUGS. Management claimed there was no bed bug problem; they said they had a complaint 10 days to 2 weeks prior and had the exterminator treat the room and so assumed they had no problem. But clearly there is still a bed bug problem. Room 10.

Got woken up at 530 am by the corporate clients, we were there for a funeral, least they could have mentioned the guests leave very early, they sounded like elephants, the bed was hard as a rock and it bounced when the other person rolled or moved. Worst motel ever slept in

My dad and I would travel each year from Peterborough, On. to N.S. This was our night stop. Food was always excellent at dinner time. Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly. Free breakfast was terrific. Now that Covid us over, I will head out again. My dad will not make the trip anymore, he is 97 years old. I am hoping my daughter will accompany to my birth place. She has never been.

Have been there for all 3 meals at one point. Service is warm and friendly. Just up graded and revised their menu. More selection. The view is wonderful, at a window table.
