Shoppers Drug Mart

Pharmacy is absolutely terrible, 3 strikes, you're out! I should have paid more attention to the overwhelming number of poor ratings for this SDMart. Store is good, but avoid the Pharmacy at all costs!

Terrible service. They complain they need 24 to 48 hrs notice for prescriptions. I give them the time and they still screw it up. Oh it’ll be about 15 min. 45 min later… terrible. Prescription has run out several times delaying getting the meds for days, sometimes a week. Avoid this place.

Terrible staffing & customer service.I shopped here because it was open late, but after how I was treated, I will not be returning. I came to purchase tylonal for my toddler. There was no cashier, so I was forced to use the self checkout station. As I went to leave, receipt and product in hand, the metal detector went off. I had placed the product down in the bagging area so I was surprised the magnet was still active. Promptly a staff member approached me, I presented my receipt (still in hand) with product. The staff took my product, and receipt and asked me to walk through the detector again. I did, and obviously did not go off as I purchased the product in hand, and it went off as I went to leave. I am greatly disappointed I was even asked to do so. Not to mention the attitude I was given. I was treated like a thief after being a paying customer. If you’re going to employ minimal staff, and maximize computerized checkouts for customers to use, you’d better treat your customers more respectfully, and maybe pay the extra Buck for a demagnetized bagging station; since you’re saving so much on staff. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I’ll be waiting for my local pharmacy next time.

This AM, came here to get new bivalent booster, AFTER calling 2x b4 going to verify they had it+eligibility, they said yes. But this new drug nurse was very Stressed it seems, because I was 10mins early? She kept telling people she was not ready with her boosts? Not necessary. But after filling form+waiting for 20 more mins, she announced to all waiting, she is only giving to 70+, and me being 60, just wasted my time here... Instead of complaining to cust of not being ready, pls advise them that they r not eligible? But get this, I went to a smaller local pharmacy around corner off Division + they were pleasant + gave me this new booster same morning?? This other drugstore is more small town+friendlier... Will go there from now on. Thank you. (I wouldn't want a 'Drama queen' nurse to handle my health). ( Hello again, I am adding a footnote today to say that my age was slightly lower than eligible age, but I am an Essential Caregiver, (reg. by taking the Ont. online training for my parent at a LTC and my last booster was close to 10 months prior, so this other smaller+ more empathetic drugstore decided to give me the shot because it was only 1 business day early, right after the weekend according to the rules). They made a good customer + healthcare decision, unlike the nurse here at this Shoppers drugmart...?) That's the truth

In a nut shell, I was having trouble filling a prescription due to unforeseen circumstances. I called the store and spoke to Maddison. After I explained my situation, she and the pharmacist on shift went out of their way to secure the Rx I needed within a very quick turn around (same day with in 1 hour). Overall, their team provided exceptional customer service in a tough situation. Thank you Maddison and the rest of the pharmacy team on duty this evening:)

It’s been a while now about three years, but my brother was told to leave because they believed a crazy Doctor about the pills my brother was taking to help control the horrible pain he has from Lyme disease. I as well left shoppers drug Mart. This is the shoppers drug Mart in Cobourg Ontario only have not had problems with any of the other ones.

2 visits and 3 phone calls to get my prescriptions moved over, rude women on the phone told me they could not re-print the receipts I had been asking about for 3 days. Clearly poorly managed.

Frequent rude interactions with pharmacy staff. They seem irritated by the need to help people.

Pharmacy- after calling for a refill and being told they didn’t have a certain prescription drug in stock and it was on back order, I called dozens of pharmacies until I found one that had it. When that pharmacy called to have the prescription transferred over Shopper Cobourg called me and said they did have it and they just didn’t look on the shelf.Store- watch the sale price tags. Many of them on the shelves and mostly in the food area are expired. I’m not sure why they aren’t removed in a timely fashion.Overall- sometimes you’re in a jam and need something and this is the only place. Pricing is much higher than other stores and even other stores selling Presidents Choice products. I’d go elsewhere first. Probably one of the most disappointing Shoppers I’ve been in.Edit: I love how Shoppers gives a canned response each and every time. No I’m not going to call you. I’ve explained the issues it’s your job to fix them. Now it’s a one star review.
