Needles In The Hay

I live in Ottawa and ordered online, but it was a great experience. The website is easy to navigate and easy to order from. They have a fantastic selection and the ordering process was simple. I ordered my items on a Thursday and received them the next Monday!! They are exactly as described; thank you so much Needles in the Hay!

- I hate to say this, but this is somewhere I no longer really go since the ownership changed a few years ago.- It feels alot more profit-driven and less of a welcoming/community space since. If looking for advice on fibres, there is an uncomfortable pressure to purchase more and/or more expensive yarn than you said was within your budget, in my experience.+ They do carry high-quality yarn from independent and local fibre makers which is great. As far as I know, they also still host various workshops. They carry wool washes, needles, crochet hooks, instructional books, and pretty much anything else you would need to finish a piece. Their selection of yarns is also impressively large for a small fibre shop.

I have yet to visit the brick and mortar store but I made an order online and received it on my door step in just under 24 hours. My package was wrapped beautifully and the yarn was as pictured and described. Support this small business if you can, I know I will be back very soon!

I asked for a recommendation of a product by email, and they suggested a beautiful wool that will knit up very nicely and responded quickly. I ordered the wool online, and had it delivered locally to my house the same day. Excellent product and excellent service! Highly recommend!

I have always had a great experience with this yarn store. They have an excellent selection of high quality yarns. Their website is laid out very well, and is easy to order from. Shipping is very prompt and the items are well-packaged.

The staff are super friendly and helpful! They have a wide selection of natural fiber yarns and nylon for socks. The accessories are beautiful and ornate. And the location is super easy to find. Prices are fantastic for the quality you get.

Stopped in on my way to visit family (I'm from Ottawa) and I would definitely return to this store again. The lady was very helpful and friendly - you can tell this is her passion. The store itself is clean, bright and set up really nicely.. looking at the massive wall of wool made me so excited to start my next project.
