Ocean River Adventures

Took their Basic kayaking certification course and immediately signed up for their Level 1. Jo and Cory (not sure of their spelling) were exceptional instructors. Made it fun and educational. I felt very safe during the dreaded wet exits and rescue training. Facilities were great, and my kayak, as well as wet suit gear were very well maintained and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful experience and looking forward to coming back in august!

A great experience! Attended the Basic Kayaking Skills course yesterday, and it was exceptional. Lee, John, and Corri were great to work with, and the equipment was top-notch. Corri was a wonderful instructor - patient, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and encouraging in all aspects; with a lovely sense of humor. The course was more than basic kayaking skills but also an education on teamwork & safety, and making sure that everyone has a safe, pleasant experience regardless of skill level. A thoroughly enjoyable day, and it was a good foundational learning that left me enthusiastic to build upon. Looking forward to visiting them soon!

Got my Basic Kayak Sea Kayak Skills certificate yesterday and had a great time. Jo was a great trainer, and every staff member I met was incredibly nice and seemed to genuinely care that everyone had a great time, right up to Lee the GM who was on the deck with everyone else helping out. Looking forward to going back for my level 1 certification!

Victoria and Federico assisted my spouse and I with two single kayaks over Easter weekend. They were both a delight. They were both friendly, attentive, and professional. We had a great self-guided paddle in the Victoria Harbour. You can't beat this place for excellent service.

I completed another excellent course with the Ocean River team. As always, they are highly skilled, well organized and create an excellent learning environment. Ben and Lee challenged us to try new skills in more advanced conditions, while always ensuring our safety. Thanks

We had an amazing time the past weekend completing the Paddle Canada Level 2 Kayak course. Nick was our instructor and he was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and kept the course interested. The weather was not the greatest the first day but we still had a blast and learned a lot. I would highly recommend.

I took the Paddle Canada Level I Sea Kayaking course this weekend with Ocean River, and WOW. Corri, our instructor, is a fabulous instructor who created an empowering environment for our cohort. They supported and challenged us based on where we were as individuals while maintaining good group dynamics. Corri created a safe and inclusive space for all of us to bring our authentic selves right from the get-go. The course content was taught in a digestible, practical manner with a good mix of theory and on-water practice. Thank you Corri and Lee!

Went kayaking with a group of four for the 2.5 guided tour around the inner harbour….it was AMAZING! We were so happy with our experience - our guide was awesome and the conditions were absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back again!

Six of us in our group were guided in the wilderness through Desolation Sound. The experience was a lifetime memory to cherish.Our guides John and Jon did an amazing job keeping us fed, educated, and entertained. Their professional knowledge of the paddling craft is next to none.I'd highly recommend their courses to anyone who wants to increase confidence while seeing one of the more remarkable locations in British Columbia.
