Burlington Canal Lift Bridge
Very cold day afternoon , visited Canal Lift Bridge. It was very quiet on the bridge, and only a cold wind blew, making the surface of the lake between the canals lapping with small waves. When the ship passed, this massive bridge would surely go up, but it was a pity not to see such a sight. At the same time, a flock of geese gathered together, and as I approached, they all flew away. I felt sorry for the geese.

Bridge operator opened exactly on time for us pleasure boaters, bridge opens 24hrs/day and opens on the hour and half hour, very exhilarating to watch the entire event!

Was cold but went to see the hundreds of long-tailed ducks. There was also the Peregrine falcon pair but they were not there for photos.

Cool up an down moving bridge for ship and boat traffic.Oldest light house close to this bridge.Driving or walking through this bridge is really fantastic.Parking just a minute walking distance. Beautiful light house platform connected with this bridge on East side.Fisherman dock connected west side of the bridge.Also cool feeling and bottom view of Burlington sky bridge.Recommended to visit. No wash room available this area.

Stays up for 30 minutes for a little yacht that takes 30 seconds to pass through. Why are boats even allowed to cross through in rush hour times?? Pray for those behind me clogging the already clogged QEW...

My grandfather worked on this way back in the late 60's. Reminds me of him every time we sail under it.

Burlington Canal Lift Bridge
An experience to be encountered.Enroute Hamilton, learnt the uniqueness of this bridge that lifts to allow bulk and high ships to cross by raising itself. Else it’s an cruising highway.Even the surroundings view is mesmerising.If time and an opportunity permits, must spare time to see this happening event.Enjoy.

worst draw bridge ever... draw bridge is closed while the highway is also closed... what use is a drawbridge that doesn't work... this bridge should retire or goon unemployment... would give zero stars if it was allowed
