I don't know where I would be right now if I hadn't called Floors Modern in November. I had a lot of damage in my condo that needed to be repaired. The ceilings and walls needed repair and repaint, and my laminate floors needed to be ripped out and replaced. My insurance company wanted to move me out for 2-4 months, but I just couldn't do that. I took a payout and started looking for my own contractor, one who would do the repairs in 2-3 weeks while I stayed in a hotel. I eventually signed a contract with a contractor who took my $7500 deposit and then started waffling on the scope of work. I got nervous and wanted to end that agreement but didn't know where to turn. I was in way over my head. I decided that I would just go ahead and have the floors replaced right away and would deal with the walls and ceilings in the new year. I had already committed to purchasing my new laminate from a flooring company arranged by my insurance company, but they wouldn't install it unless I was fully moved out. I called Floors Modern to ask if they would install flooring that l bought from another supplier. Mark Cunningham took my call and recognized my desperation. He was especially concerned that another contractor had my $7500 deposit and he offered support in getting the money back. He also recognized how stressed I was in dealing with the aftermath of massive damage caused by a heating company who refused to accept responsibility for their negligence. It was not company policy, but Mark agreed to install my new flooring even though it wasn't their product. But Mark didn't stop there.... Mark put me in touch with Dan Heppell of Heppell Contracting. In the space of less than 2 weeks I had contracts signed with Dan Heppell for the repair and repainting of my ceilings and walls, and with Floors Modern for levelling my floors and installing new laminate. I spent 3 weeks in a hotel while Heppell Contracting and Floors Modern did their magic, which included moving furniture and boxes around in my 509 sq ft condo. The rest is history! I came home on December 17, 2019, to a beautiful new home. Everything is perfect! They covered up the damaged popcorn and I now have gorgeous flat ceilings throughout. They repaired damaged walls and repainted everything including inside the closets, and added beautiful new baseboards. My floors were professionally levelled and the new laminate was installed by Floors Modern. My home has never looked so good! I tell everyone that this was a Christmas miracle. I had my children and granddaughter here at Christmas and they were very impressed, and so happy for me. They are also very grateful to Mark Cunningham and Dan Heppell for coming to my rescue. I will never forget what Mark & Dan have done for me. Floors Modern has been operating a successful business in New West since 1948. Floors Modern did our flooring throughout, incl. hardwood flooring, travertine tiles with design, stair cases, baseboards, etc. when remodeling of my home. It was a big job. Thank Nick for his knowledge and professionalism which helped me go through the installations smoothly. Every of my guests is impressed by the end results.

Nigel Rogers was very helpful from the get go. He walked us through the pros & cons of all types of flooring We set up a home visit for a estimate & he arrived promptly We had many hurdles with our strata but Nigel overcame all with his professionalism. Nigel was awesome. Very awesome and helped me find the right flooring but worked with my insane schedule of getting it installed. He was very communicative and no pressure. He was also very knowledgeable about all of the products and really helped me find the right thing for my place. I love supporting local New West business and will be recommending floors modern.

Purchased Hardwood flooring for an entire house. Flooring came in and was not the same colour as ordered. Company did nothing to correct this! Horrible Customer Service!!! Would not recommend this company to purchase flooring from!!!!

I recently had Floors Modern install engineered hardwood flooring in my apartment. I can not praise John Gillespie and the crew, Guy, Diego and Andrew enough. They are a very compatible team.Although there was a delay due to an unforseen problem with the subfloor, Geo, Diego and Andrew were always pleasant and respectful, keeping me up to date with the work progress. They were a pleasure to have in my home.The result of their work ethic and attention to details is a stunning new floor and a very happy home owner.

I went to purchase glue down LVP. I had been to a couple other stores but no one could answer my questions about the type of glue with my hydronic heated floors.John had all the answers to my questions.He even saved me money by talking me out of a full leveling job.I was reluctant but in the end it was the right call.Geo and Dago squeezed me into their schedule immediately as I was in a rush. Both of these guys worked hard all day and were good at communicating. Plus they did a perfect job.We’ll be back when we renovate the rest of the house.Thanks!

I had Floors Modern installed floor-to-celling marble tiles in my two bathrooms. The results are stunning. They offered good quality service and value, very responsive. It has been one year now and the tiles are still in perfect status.

I visited a few flooring stores to search for the perfect vinyl plank floor. I encountered Nigel here who was helpful and fair with the quote. There was a 3 month delay between the first and second phase of install and Nigel was very patient and communicative throughout.One of the installers they sent, Alex, was professional and meticulous. I'm very happy with the results and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I booked an appointment with Mark C to come and measure/price out carpet, but he was a no-show. Not only did he not turn up, after I tried to get him on the phone, he had an excuse, but not a reasonable plan to do what he promised. Coming over an hour later or deep into the next week to measure wasn't truly a solution. Customer service to notify me he wouldn't make the appointment was non-existent. Thought he was a good guy, but turns out, he didn't have the courtesy to communicate with us earlier in the day. Moving on to better carpet, better service and more reliable appointment keepers, losing at least our business, for sure.
