Amazing service. Did the work fast, very friendly. Really fair price. Head guy Justin went above & beyond to make sure all my files were safe in a raid 1 set-up. I initially was super impressed with your responsiveness to my initial call and every contact point and outreach thereafter. I had hardly opened a service ticket and my phone rang. Super customer service and total data recovery. Thank you for making everything right! I brought to Justin and his team my two Western Digital backup drives that happen to crash within a week of each other, leaving me without any backup and even without important work documents. After contacting a few data recovery services, I opted to use this service. I was presented with a worst case scenario and more realistic scenario. Justin and his team were incredible. They suggested that I should buy a NAS and described the benefits of the various system available. I purchased a NAS and drives on Amazon but there are a delay in the delivery. In the meantime, they managed to recover all my lost data and provided me with a temporary drive until my NAS and drives were ready to use. They also provided me with additional support at no charge afterward when I was setting up my NAS. This data recovery team is first class all the way. B Bourret

Justin at datarecovery.com was fantastic! A small issue to me was a bigger issue than I thought. My USB port on my external hard drive fell off, and when I contacted G Technology, they told me my drive was out of warranty and I needed to get my data recovered. I called many data recovery businesses in Toronto, and datacovery.com was the best priced, so I decided to go with them. Justin was very responsive and let me know what was going on every step of the way. All of my data was recovered and the turn around time was 4 days (I didn't need it rushed). I highly recommend this business!

I accidentally fried 3 drives, 1 SSD and 2 HDD. I requested a quote and was contacted next day by phone to get more details. Luckily I live nearby their Toronto office so I went to drop off my drives and they were polite, professional and went above and beyond. How did they go 'above and beyond' you may ask? Well I was told almost instantly if there is nothing important the SSD would be a couple thousand to repair. Ok so that was a loss I was ok with. But then I did not know which of my HDD was the one that had the more important information. I told the representative that I handed my drives to and the next day I got a call, to my surprise, he had done some preliminary work and found out which drive was which for me. That small act, which I'm sure was already a lot of work for him, meant a lot to me. They successful recovered my important drive. The other HDD they held on to until I decided if I wanted to recover it or take the loss of the data. They were very prompt, honest and kept me updated regularly with phone calls and emails.YES data recovery is expensive, but for those who don't know what a hard drive looks like inside, nevermind how it works, you really are paying for the modern equivalent of a GOOD watchmaker.TL;DR: these guys are great at what they do, reasonably priced (it's a matter of how valuable that data is to you), fantastic at keeping you updated, and very understanding.10/10 these are my go to Data Recovery guys from now on.Also apparently the guys Western Digital regularly goes to for data recovery

This place is a HUGE rip off. They wanted to charge me $1200 to recover my photos when I got it done for $250 at some other random shop. I had damaged my phone when I was on vacation in the ocean. First I took it to apple and they said there's nothing they can do since I had not backed up my phone to iCloud. So next I took it to ESS to take a look at it. I didn't care about anything besides getting my pictures and videos back. I thought 12 years of memories are gone and I was pretty desperate. My phone was able to turn on but wouldn't stay on for more than 10 seconds. The Face ID was damaged, battery was ruined and overall I think it had salt water damage. When I got the quote back from ESS, they said it was going to be very difficult to get the photos and videos back" but I wouldn't have to pay unless they retrieved them. Then they told me it would be $1200 to get my photos back. I thought there was no WAY I would pay this much I guess I will lose the memories. So I took my phone back and took it to another place on Kennedy. Two days later my phone turned on

Returned retrieved data on a compact, easy to access drive. Happy to redo when realized there had been a mis-understanding about the OS, ad the drive had been designed to be used with both MAC & Windows. Quick, precise, accurate - no bafflegab. Data recovery is expensive but I'm glad I went with these guys to get as much data back as possible without risking losing it forever if something went wrong at a shop without all the skills, parts and a clean room to do it right. Ninety nine percent recovery and excellent customer service along the way - this photographer is very happy!
