Kintec: Footwear + Orthotics

After an absolutely horrendous one on one fitting at Kintec Vancouver, I was encouraged to try the Burnaby location.The difference was night and day.The help I got in Burnaby was attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We were able to dig into the specifics of my injury needs and sizing and find options that were immediately great and supported my PT goals. I felt like my feedback was being productively incorporated into the discussion to fine tune and improve what I was being shown.Since I was a bit reluctant to commit after my Vancouver Kintec experience, I asked for more options as comparables just to make sure. They were extremely patient in bringing out alternates to compare.In the end, I left with a pair of shoes that was markedly better than my prior shoes and the feeling that my concerns were heard and addressed appropriately.

I stopped into the Kintec store in Burnaby for the first time as I have been struggling with plantar fasciatis in my feet. Emmanuel was extremely helpful without being pushy at all in selling me a very expensive pair of shoes. I really appreciated his honesty. He gave helpful suggestions and took a scan of my feet. I would definitely return to the store in the future. Thank you!

Staff try their best to make sure orthotics are comfortable. I had to go multiple times to get the orthotics adjusted and after a ridiculous number of visits, a new pair was ordered instead to specifically address the pain/pressure point. Staff do care and make sure it's comfortable.However, the last person to fit my orthotics damaged my shoe and punched a hole in the toe area; they're only a few months old so it's a bit disappointing :( Thought the material was just snagged a bit but upon closer inspection it's definitely holey. Should have looked closer in the store but I was more focused on how the orthotics was feeling.

I was very impressed at the service I received as I got my orthotics at a different location and my one year of free adjustments was up. Gamal fixed my problem with my orthotic inserts and as it was quick I was not charged this time! I will book any future adjustments or orthotics at this Kintec - thank you!

Humam was extremely helpful and thorough. He spent an hour with me starting on the treadmill then the foot scan and after explaining to me in detail the results and what shoes / inserts would work best for me. Very personalized experience and thank you Humam for finding my proper shoe size I wouldn’t have known without you!

Made an appointment to get fitted for a knee brace at the Burnaby location and Jamal was a great help. He was patient throughout numerous fittings. In the end, this location didn't have the brace I wanted in my size, so he made a call to their West Broadway location and had their staff put one on hold for me. Great fellow, would recommend!

We had a fantastic experience here this morning. It's my second time here and I believe both times I was served by Jamal who is very knowledgeable, super helpful, and just a nice person, all of which added up to great customer service. There was no rush, it felt like he cared and covered all the bases when it came to problem solving and analysis. It felt like the customer service experience from like 30 years ago where people know their stuff and want to help you. We left with the right shoes and a good feeling. It feels good spending money here knowing it supports people like Jamal.

Originally, another transient employee did my original evaluation, and I had a bad experience. I wasn't very confident about what kind of orthotics I would receive. This didn't sit well with me. I took the time and called back and had a meaningful conversation with Sara G,the manager and pedorthist. She suggested that I come back for a second assessment before my customized orthotics were ordered. My second appointment was a complete 180 degree different experience! Sara was very kind and patient, took her time, was very thorough, and answered all my questions and concerns. She assured me that she would follow through with me for the entire process. When I returned for my fitting,she explained how she had a hybrid of a walking/ general sport orthotic with a built-up heel cup made for me. From the first few steps to almost 2 weeks, the orthotics are incredible!! They are in my shoes performing beautifully, but I don't feel them. I have 1 year for free adjustments but I don't believe I will need adjustments. They are perfect!! Thank you Sara for taking the time and care with me, making a bad experience into a positive one and providing excellent customer service. Instead of dismissing me, you made me feel important and have made all the difference. I will be back to see you again, and I will recommend you and Kintec to my friends. You are professional and genuinely care about your clients. Thank you!!!

I had really kind service but I wish I had someone more knowledgeable. I explained that I was getting a bruised small toe with existing shoes. I did the assessment and I was told that I should get a half size smaller than I normally wear. It felt too tight so I purchased 2 pairs in my normal size for running and they felt fine just walking around. Now I have 4 bruised toes after a few weeks of running. My physiotherapist said that I need to purchase half size larger! Too bad I can’t return the shoes. They’re only 3 months old. Fine for walking but I can’t run in them.Edit: Sara, the Burnaby Store manager, reached out, fitted me with different shoes and made sure I got a pair that works for my feet. She was super kind, helpful, very knowledgeable and gave me some helpful tips for how to tie my shoes. I am very grateful and look forward to jogging again.

Both my wife and I went for an evaluation to Canada Way Location.My wife has heel spurs and I have “on cloud” pair of running shoes but I get knee pains when I run.Jamal spent a fair amount of time and narrowed down the choices amd finally we were able to buy a great pair of running shoes as well as inserts and of course a very comfortable pair of Hoka beach sliders!!Now just have to wait for the ☀️Thanks Jamal for being patient and taking the time!!
