Very good food and very good ambience. We ordered the Omikase and Royale Party Boat for 5pax. This place is highly recommended.

We had Happy Hour at Kamei. Oysters were very fresh. Other dishes were also delicious. Quiet and convenient location to have gatherings.

Overall, the food was good! Service was slow. We had to ask for extra serving bowls and utensils. Similar water and tea weren't promptly refilled. The decor can use an update.

Came to Kamei with a friend for the 3-course menu. The food itself was not bad. It can get a bit loud—but what would a restaurant be without the noise? There was no wait time when I arrived, and service itself was great.

Quality and taste of the food was great! Happy with the variety of rolls and cooked options available, and everything was delicious! Service was slightly slow however; unsure if it was due to a larger group in the back of the restaurant also dining at the same time. Otherwise, would recommend!

Kamei Japanese Restaurant on Broadway is an absolute must-try for anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Japanese dining experience. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes. Each dish is expertly prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with beautiful presentation. Every bite is packed with flavor, making it hard to choose just one favorite. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is also friendly and attentive. From start to finish, our meal was enjoyable and memorable - we will definitely be returning soon! Lunch service may be inconsistent, but it leans to the good side. Sometimes they forget your order but the price and quick fix are worthwhile.The lunch menu has a decent selection and I'm happy to say this is one of the few gems that actually includes broccoli in their tempura offerings!Haven't had the pleasure of catching them at night when they morph into their Izakaya form, but I'll tell you the chikuwa cheese and ebi fry were good even in the daytime.The music reminds me of my dentist's from when I was a kid: 80s and 90s love songs. That may sound like a burn but it's totally my jam because my work forces us to listen to the Top 40.

My family and I had food from their happy hour and regular menus. The food was nicely presented; the service was good; and the food was overall very decent…nothing to rave about. I liked the seared mackerel best. I wished the truffle fries had more seasoning, especially more truffle taste. 18% gratuity was automatically put on our separate bills as we were a party of 10.
