I had a service in bc fireplace inc. to fix my 30-year-old fireplace. He didn't try anything, and said that every fireplace makes noise. He told me not to use the fireplace because bad gas was leaking into my apartment. I paid $130 for nothing but forced to buy expensive and non-functioning glass parts.I called another handyman and he dug out the spark plug with dirt and reassembled defective ones. The fireplace no longer makes a sound. He tested for a gas leak and there was no more leak.It is unprofessional to scare the client instead of admitting your incompetence. I was disappointed and waste so much money. If you do not progress, you must be weeded out.

A very disappointing experience. They took my $3,500 deposit under false pretenses and then the salesman (Tom) lied to cover himself. Got my money back promptly, but dealing with Tom over the last 5 months has been a complete waste of time.Contacted him back in July, interested in purchasing a ductless AC unit and a gas fireplace insert for our home. They were very busy at the time with AC sales and no rush on the fireplace insert, so ok, will contact them in a month.Call back Tom, he tells me about a new kind of AC unit, we discuss some details and options, but then he’s going on vacation, so ok follow-up with him when he comes back.Contact Tom when he comes back, get estimates for electrical and discuss with Tom. Our attic master bedroom has no heating, so we need this unit to provide heat in this cooler weather. He advises put down a deposit so he can bring in the AC unit, and he will schedule the installation in 2-3 weeks.Accepted the contract and put down $3,000 deposit Oct 15th, another $500 on Nov 3rd. No installation date scheduled after 3 weeks so I start asking for updates. The response was that they want to focus on fireplace sales right now, so install will now be mid January, NOT the 2-3 weeks promised by Tom.The worst part is, now total silence from Tom, he’s not only letting someone else clean up his mess, he’s lying to them to try and cover up the problem he has made. Very disappointing and unprofessional.The ironic thing is, another one of their salespeople was supposed to call me back for the gas fireplace insert I wanted to buy back in July, but never heard back from them either.

Your technician missed our unit. Then called to inform and reschedule- communicated to me from Michelle not a big deal technician was still working in the complex. Technician than yelled at my wife and demanded payment even though this was billed through our strata. We ended up paying 70 dollars more than everyone else due to your technicians error and now recieved a no show fee invoice from our strata for the missed appointment when we were home all day and the technician never came- no knock no buzz nothing. Michelle at BC Fire told me that they would send the documents to our strata she never did. Technician is extremely rude and angery man, this is a very unorganized unprofessional company. Next year we are opting out of this service and I will find another vendor. I will also be putting a motion in at the next AGM to have BC Fireplace removed from the vendor list.Response: I love it how your company just makes up stories, dates and times. I paid the invoice the very same day after your technician Josh was yelling at my wife and then me me over the phone while I was at work. There is a buzzer that goes directly to mobile phones, and no your technician didn't use that. I don't know he knocked, but buy highly doubt it. You are a terrible rude and disorganized company and will never step foot in my home again. I am also going to do my best to ensure the same goes for out complex. Does your technician Josh always yell at small women when their home ?

I came in with pictures and exact measurements and Michelle was very helpful in point out what units would be the ideal fit and also brought to my attention of the wood box rebate which was a nice bonus. Heather was easy to deal with on the job set up and invoicing plus the service guys were very professional on the install making sure they kept area clean. A few months later I had a small issue with flame height and Michelle dispatched a service tech in an appropriate time frame and issue was resolved. I am a building operator by trade dealing with multiple contractor on a weekly basis and would not hesitate to recommend or use BC Fireplace again. Thank you Aldo

We had our fireplace installed in mid January of this year. From our initial contact right through until installation, the whole process was incredible. Fully transparent, stuck to timelines and they were in continuous contact. Since the installation there has been follow up to see if everything was okay and were we happy with their service. BC Fireplace Service is the only call to make for your gas fireplace installation. I can recommend them highly enough!

Edit: yes it’s the correct company. The rate was actually $189. I don’t use my full legal name online. Original review: Called for repair of my electric fireplace. Charged me $180 for a technician to look at it and told me the part was unavailable. They then aggressively tried to sell me a new fireplace. I later called another company, and they were able to source the part and repair the fireplace with no problem.

The job was done professionally, however, regarding the price, I believe they overcharged me at least $1,000. They replaced my old fireplace with Continental CX 36-1 and charged me $5,400 plus GST. After it had been installed, I checked with a dealer of Continental Fireplaces. They gave me a quote $4,000-4,400. Of course, I told the dealer that I currently had an old fireplace in my condo so in their quote, the job would include the removal of the old fireplace.

BC Fireplace was a great! Michelle helped us find the right gas insert for our needs and she even advised on the refinishing of our fireplace. Jordan and Theo were efficient and tidy. They had it installed in 2.5 hours and the place cleaned. Jordan even gave a quick tutorial before departing. Totally recommend.

Beware of unethical business practices. A technician came to replace cracked glass, then told me urgent" repairs were immediately needed for my "unsafe" gas fireplace. When I brought in a technician from another company to provide a second opinion

Sitting in their parked lot that’s how disappointing the service is. I want a particular fireplace. It happens to be sitting at the door, I got excited thinking this is it. Just to find out they don’t sell the make or model, I asked if they knew how I could locate it. She simply wouldn’t work with me. And walked away. And it wasn’t cheap fireplace that I’m after. Beneficial to go the extra step she could’ve sold me something different.
