Kagoagh Resort and Fishing Lodge
Absolutely wonderful place! The hospitality and attention to detail is second to none. Gina and Tyler are so great at making you feel at home here. Mac and Naomi go above and beyond making sure you are warmly welcome and looked after. Thomas our guide made sure we had fish of all sorts and toured us around the sound showing off the wildlife. We will definitely be back. Truly felt like home away from home. Thank you so very much!!!

Great service and food.Guided fishing was top notch and the guide knew his stuff and got us on the fish both days. One of the best lodges I’ve been to yet.Staff was flexible and accommodated our requests and ensured a superb meal was available when we arrived late due to flight delays.Accommodations were great.Fishing gear and boats were top of the line and well maintained. We’ll be back.

One of the best fishing trip with my family and friends. My kids had their first memorable fishing experience. My wife approved it as Ty made it a fun day on the water. We all loved Gina's cooking. They have an amazing friendly team. Keep up the great work.

This was my first time sport fishing and it was a great experience. Tyler, Gina, and all staff and crews are simply wonderful. This is a first class place: professional, relaxed, family friendly (and Stella the dog is a sweet bonus!) From start to finish, we felt so welcome and part of the family, yet were treated like royalty, from the welcome glass of bubbly, to amazing meals, to detailed and professional guidance. Each day was a packed breakfast and lunch to take on the boat, and it was simply not possible to go hungry! The guides (we had Tyler) quite obviously know their stuff - from safety to instruction to finding where the fish are. Many of our fellow guests were second-timers, and we will be back too! Bravo Zulu Kagoagh!

Our family and our doggy had an awesome time at Kagoagh. Gina was friendly, warm and an inviting host as well as the rest of the family & staff. Food was AMAZING. Very accommodating as I personally had dietary restrictions to provide alternatives. Overall the relaxing atmosphere overlooking waterfront with super fun fishing trip were heck of an experience. The room was clean and was cool/breezy without an AC! Great layout for a daytime nap. It was a little bit of a long ride to get there than we expected but it definitely felt like a relaxing vacation wanting to go back next year!

The moment you get to Coal Harbour to get picked up, you can feel relaxation setting in. The short boat ride to the lodge is surrounded by beautiful scenery of rugged coastline and towering mountain vistas. Arriving at the dock you are met with a smile and a hearty hello by either Louise or Amber. The lodge overlooks the bay and each guest room have a full view of the bay. The boats used are excellent with lots of room for movement during fishing. Upon entering the lodge we were met by owners Gina and Tyler and provided with a glass of champagne. From that point on you were the focus of the lodge staff. Here are more highlights-The food was absolutely fantastic and Gina works with you for meal planning-The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable with in room TV and wifi-Thomas our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and worked hard to find us the fish. We hit our legal limits for salmon each day. He was very safety conscious and always kept us out of harms way.-Our daily catch was professionally cleaned and vacuum sealedWithout hesitation I would recommend the fishing lodge. We will be returning and can’t wait.

For first-time fishermen (like me), or for veteran anglers, Kagoagh Resort and Fishing Lodge will exceed your expectations with home-style hospitality, authentic accommodations and unparalleled fishing. Since I’ve never vacationed at any fishing lodge, let alone one located in the heart of a Canadian rainforest, I’ll share a few additional details on this once-in-a-lifetime (or is it?) holiday. We started our adventure with two nights in Vancouver. Unless you are in a rush, spending a night or two in Victoria or Vancouver to get oriented is a great way to start. Vancouver is very lively in the summer and offers comfortable hotels, fantastic restaurants and ample sight-seeing. We chose to take the BC Ferries from Vancouver to Vancouver Island, then drove roughly four hours north to Kagoagh.Arrival and Accommodations: We arrived in the afternoon and I took a moment to check out the 19 foot whale jaw and chainsaw collection at Coal Harbour’s RCAF Museum. From there, we met a boat from Kagoagh and took a short ride to the lodge for the next three nights. Gina, one of the owners, greeted us warmly and we took the opportunity to relax before dinner. Kagoagh has seven or so rooms and I shared one (“Chum”) with a member of my party. The rooms are super-clean, comfortable and well appointed with an en suite bathroom, television, wifi and a desk. All the rooms face Hecate Cove and look down on the Kagoagh’s extraordinary dock. Downstairs, we found a small bar and comfortable dining area, plus plenty of recreational opportunities like darts, foosball and table tennis.Fishing: Kagoagh’s fishing, and accompanying nature experience, is not to be forgotten. We were up early and on the water by 5:30am. Our boat was Kagoagh’s brand new six person fishing “Cadillac”. The boat was sturdy, comfortable, and ate up the Pacific’s choppy waters with ease. Finding fish is never guaranteed, but our guide and co-owner Ty knew where to look. I caught at or near my limit both days. We fished for lingcod, salmons and halibut. Ty’s expert and patient guidance made for a memorable experience. Enough cannot be said about the natural beauty that surrounds Kagoagh Lodge. From sea otters, to whales, to the beautiful eagle I spotted on the last afternoon, Kagoagh is impressive for its setting as well as its sport.Dining: Lastly, our stay included thoughtfully prepared meals to complete the experience. Gina and her team offered cooked-to-order options for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch on the boat, and delicious dinners to cap off the day. Dinner includes a choice of entrees. Beer and cocktails were also available for a small additional charge. To wrap it all up, Kagoagh can help prepare your fish to take home or, as we required, a local vendor will process, freeze and ship your catch for a fee. We had a special experience from start to finish. As my party exited from Kagoagh’s Bay (Watch)ing the Lodge disappear around the corner of Hecate Cove), we vowed to return someday…very soon. Thank you Ty, Gina and the whole Kagoagh team.

Amazing! Highly recommend Kagoagh! Lodge, staff, food, fishing equipment/boats, guides, location and let’s not forget their security for their property, Rambo. We had such a great time. You truly feel like they care about your experience. A family run fishing charter, with a family welcoming. A must go!

Didn’t stay at the resort but went on a guided fishing trip with Alexei. The service was great as was the entire experience. We plan to return every year now!
