Typical government employees work here. Lazy people, lack of work ethic not many job prospects. Mortified of actual customer service. I would consider putting off going there unless absolutely necessary. If you do go make sure you know what things you need to give them and leave it in a box. Then pray they don’t lose it, you have a 50-50 chance.

They are currently backlogged by over 4 months. That means that if you buy a home in Alberta, it takes them over 4 months to update the title. This has created absolute chaos in Alberta. Lawyers are not getting paid. People are not getting their tax bills. You cannot appeal an assessment. ABSOLUTE CHAOS! How lazy can these workers be? How about throwing in some overtime, maybe working an extra Saturday or something? Hiring more people? This is shameful. British Columbia doesn't have this problem - all titles are updated SAME DAY. Why not use the BC system? This outdated system has to go. If the lazy public workers can't fix it them someone needs to step in and fire them all and privatize it.

This office is closed to the public, except for a document drop off box. Be aware that any fees will need to be paid by cheque. The website is confusing and not helpful in explaining what fees are applicable for each process. You are encouraged to mail in your documents, but they must be originals, not copies. And can Canada Post be trusted with these items in regular mail? You can't send via registered mail because the address is a PO box. Very disappointed to have such a vital office to be shut down. Other businesses can work safely during Covid, why not this public office?

Never ever thought this is how a govt office will function. Absolutely no empathy and the way staff behaves is as if they are doing a favour even by replying to your emails. This is the lowest this office can go. Payment has been debited and the time has passed way beyond on their website, there is no information on title change. Will be again paying fees and this time involving lawyer to get this done. Some of the employees should run for mayor or premier elections especially Susan Budney as they have already started to behave like one.

The woman officer was extremely helpful on the phone, described a very tricky process in leyman's terms, and walked through each of the necessary documents with me. I received an answer almost immediately. Very impressed with their service.

My experience with Land titles has been less than desirable and based off of my situation I know why they have a 2 star rating. With their offices being closed during covid they offer no assistance and so when mistakes are made in paper work THEY DO NOT HELP AT ALL. In fact I got hung up on the SUPERVISOR GRACE, completely unprofessional for someone in her position. Your going to waste your time dealing with these people, absolutely horrendous service, super disappointing.

Drove all the way downtown, paid for parking, only to find out they're closed to the public right now! This information isn't posted anywhere that I can find online. I really wanted to see them to help me through the process, but instead I was directed to put my papers through a slot with a cheque (which I had in my purse). Since I didn't have a pen to fill out the cheque I had to mail it in. It's been over a week and they haven't contacted me or cashed my cheque so of course now I'm worried my documents are lost in the mail.

I sent my original documents to them and after three months they told me it was deficient while a lawyer has checked the document and stamped them as Notary. They told me I can pickup the document from the mail room and after one week, it looks they have lost my documents! I do not know where should I complain?

Gong show. Parts of the website say they're open, other parts say they are under COVID closure (a month after the provincial reopening). Their voicemail says nothing of COVID and instead explains they're closed because of a high volume of real estate transactions. Website says you can pay by credit or debit, voicemail says cheque only. Confused, I popped in to see if they were indeed closed, and sure enough they were, which was a minor inconvenience for me. There was a senior couple there though almost in tears, pleading to the security guard that they drove 3 hours to settle some business. I feel for them. Shameful lack of management here.

If user friendly was the goal of a public service website like Land Titles, they have definetly NOT ACHIEVED that. The forms you have to fill out are the most vague, complicated and unhelpful. The layout lacks insight of the user perspective. The fields are left blank and are not asking what data you need to enter. See my picture. So prepare yourself for extra trips to this office. You get one character wrong on these forms and its back to the Commisioner of Oaths for another round of that not-so-well thought out system also. Why do public service offices operate like its 1985?
