Liftlock & the Riverboat Cruises

Great boat ride ! Snacks and drinks on the boat were cheap. Amazing captain and mono logger lol nice chill boat ride on a beautiful day !

The cruise experience is interesting where they take you around Peterborough and to the hydraulic lift where the cruise is lifter around 60ft above. The cruise captain gives an in detail description of the area, and its history.Although the views from the high point aren't that much, since there's not much to see. But the cruise experience is a good one for one time.

We went in the lift lock cruise. The Cruise Captain Joddie was very nice and a funny person too.The Cruise team was also very humble and welcoming.It was a 2 hours ride.We had lot of fun.You can see the pictures and videos I am posting here.

I took the Liftlock Cruise recently on the spur of the moment and it was totally worth it! All of the Staff very helpful and friendly and most importantly COVID-Friendly :-) ... I'm a writer doing story research and I got more than what I was expecting during the 2 hour cruise. The Captain was very knowledgeable and I spent my summers in Peterborough for years and I still learned new things :-)... highly recommend !!!

I was there this morning. I would have loved to give a full 5 stars. The team on the cruise and the experience on the cruise itself was excellent. However, the issue I faced was at the counter. I had called and made reservations; for the only cruise they had for today @ 1 pm I was at the ticket counter at exactly 12:50. My husband after parking was there at 12:55. The lady at the counter was rude and kind of telling me the boat was about to leave ask your husband to rush multiple times. Call him etc, although I had called right in front of her while purchasing the tickets. In those 5 minutes she had 5 different things to say. We were in by 12:56 My point being if the cruise is scheduled to leave at 1:00pm why this attitude?

We had a great and unique experience which I had never been before with Liftlock riverboat cruise. The tickets to be purchased is cash only and you can just give a call to reserve your spot in advance but cannot book online tickets. The ticket booth is just near to the holiday inn and you need to board your boat from there. Parking is free in weekends and there is a small restaurant and a park alongside the boat tour. Washrooms available outside of the restaurant. The experience was unique since we got to know how the water is locked in the hydraulic tank and released. The lock opens and the cruise gets lifted to 65FT of height just like a 16-17 storey building as the hydraulic lock opens. You would feel like you are in air but actually you are sitting on your cruise but rising up FT by FT as the water level goes up.

Really interesting to experience first hand something uniquely designed over 100 years ago and not just see it but to experience it’s true function today.Our Capt Jody was funny and informative, high marks for his excellent contribution. Dont’t hesitate to go, bring cash because ticket sales are cash only.

The staff was awesome, the cruize was so fascinating. For 35$ well worth it. If you are near the area,you should definitely take it in.

Great way to spend a couple of hours! Captain Jody was entertaining and told us about the canal, locks and history of the area. I would recommend this tour.
