Shop Makers Metrotown

This is a great place to showcase your work as a maker! The manager is super down to earth to explain you the process etc! Love it. so nice to see unique handmade custom gifts - supporting small businesses!

There are so many options for gift ideas at this store! It's nice to know I'm supporting local businesses when I shop here. Kurt is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this store to others.

Homemade shop filled by local artists.(1) All the tagged prices go STRAIGHT back to the artists which is why...they charge a 13% charge on top of sticker price for shop maintenance expenses etc...(2) This information is CLEARLY printed on signage near the front desk (unsure if it's all around the store). There was at least 2 signs I saw that indicated this.(3) In understanding that small local can't have the same discounts as bulk; I love and appreciate stores like this. They keep the economy and money flow WITHIN the community, versus moving the monies to big corporations.(4) Wonderful variety of different types of items, anime/fandoms, stickers, keychains, cards, candles, shoelaces, ring holders, crochet items, bags, hair accessories, air fresheners, jewelry etc.*(5) With everything that is happening with AI art/media, I'm grateful that we have stores like this that still support an actual artist/ human.

I had such a great time at The Nooks! Was not expecting to see this type of store at Metropolis, and I'm so happy that we are able to support local artists in a plethora of corporate businesses. There was enough space to walk around while wearing a backpack and still be surrounded by all the great products. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Really happy with the stickers, pin, and glass cup that I bought (unpictured). Will be coming again next time I need thoughtful and unique gifts!

The store is plastered with stickers that you're under surveillance, that if you break something you must buy it, and that food and drink equals an automatic lifetime ban. I put my Perrier on their table per store policy and it was stolen by the end of my visit. Staff just shrugged and told me to be more careful next time (or you could just not force us to put drinks on the table and trust us to not drink them?).Store policies are definitely excessive, and don't forget that there's a 13% credit card processing fee irrespective of whatever price tags you encounter in store.

Randomly walked into the store while shopping in Metrotown nearby the atrium on the second floor. It was nice to walk around to see different items and this is a good time to have such a shop, especially during seasons when it's for friend's birthday as well as Christmas present.There are scented candles, earrings, necklaces, pendants, home decor and many other handmade crafts for sale.

Great shop featuring tons of local artists and their crafts. Fun to browse and support local while buying gifts for friends and loved ones. Items are grouped by creator, but you can definitely find similar items from different creators throughout the store (i.e. candles). There was a line up to get into the store.My two suggestions would be to diversify the products throughout the store) i.e. only have at max three types of the same products) and to ensure that all products have price tags throughout.

This gift shop is a hidden gem! From handmade jewelry to beautiful home decor, they have a little bit of everything. It's the perfect place to find a thoughtful and unique gift for someone special.

I definitely feel lied to. They charged me 13% sales tax. The stuff there is already pretty expensive. I would rather support the artists at art conventions. I was excited to see some of my favourite artists there, but it was priced too high.I like the idea, but there needs to be a better way to support the artists. They need to be transparent that they're going to charge me 13%! At least at art cons, it's the exact price...

I have been shopping here ever since it opened as it is the perfect place to find gifts or shop for myself!There are various makers to shop from, glad to be supporting local and know that the talented individuals earn 100% of their profits! It is great to see small creators flourishing from a standard shelf to their own in time.After looking at other reviews, to be clear there is a 13% service fee *INSTEAD* of tax, to keep the store itself operating. I have asked out of curiosity regarding tax, it is dealt with on each makers end. So rest assure for those concerned, the government still receives it’s taxes on our purchases but that is dealt with on each makers end.
