Block 1912 Cafe
Block 1912 has been a Whyte Avenue legend in Edmonton for many many years. However with so many more innovative and creative options entering the scene, it is feeling as if Block is becoming dated now.It is still the same antiquated" vibe in their space which kinda works. However

With a clean store and a quiet atmosphere, this cafe was a great place to study or read books. Of course, conversation is also good.

The experience in this cafe was wonderful. Its in the heart of whyte ave and has its own vibe. The old look of it makes it unique.This restaurant is known for it Pastries and of course coffee. I came in winter and tried their hot apple cider drink with Liqour. It was amazing.In my recent visit, I tried to eat out of their menu and chose a grilled sandwich. I was not expecting to be this sad. It was like a kid made it for you. Taste was good but it was not appealing.Another reason to cut a star was washroom. It was not super clean. They need to work on it.Otherwise, this cafe is a vibe from old generation to students. Price is reasonable for coffee around $4-8. Food is around $10-17 and pastries are around $9-17.

I love coffee and tea, so the fact that there's a great selection of both on top of seasonal drinks makes this place immediately top tier for me. I had a lavender latte and it was deliciously lavender without being too sweet. The desserts are tasty and quite large, with a huge selection alongside vegan and gluten free options. The lavender fog cake I got was nice, but just a bit too sweet for me, but it paired super well with the coffee I got. The atmosphere is very cosy and the dimmer lighting gives Block 1912 a almost frozen in time kind of vibe.

I am not paid by anyone to post, and my views are subjective.I am giving Block 1912 Cafe the following ratings:- deserts 8/10Good quality, but small size for the price- price 3/10I think it's way to overpriced to pay for a slice of cake $9 bucks.- setting 10/10Great environment. Love the design. Pleasure to spend time inside- location 10/10Great location in trendy neighborhood-washrooms 1/10I think washrooms should be cleaned more oftenI gave overall rating of 4 out of 5 mainly because the of the setting and quality of food.

Great experience at Block 1912. So many options for dessert. Plenty of Vegan and Non vegan options.I had a Hot Chocolate for $6.50 and it was excellent.I went on a Saturday and it was very busy. The café itself is very cozy. Highly recommend you come to this café!! 5 stars

This cafe was pretty busy during my visit on weekday evening.I was standing at the counter for more than 10 minutes without any explanation, server seemed very overwhelmed and stressed out.It will be much better if he could just talk to me that he know im there or he should talk to his co-worker earlier to help me out instead of i was waiting there for more than 10mins.And i found out all the staff are not friendly there, DO NOT EXPECT SERVICE HERE.Large place with many unique seats and live piano play extra all the ideas brilliant except service, maintenance and taste of coffee.Really disappointed and not satisfied.

Block 1912 Cafe
Great cafe in the winter (super cozy and great drinks). In the summer they open the large door and it can get quite loud in there. Deserts are overpriced but worth it.
