Small but very popular place! Was told serves northern Taiwanese style foods. We had pork belly, fish, hot pot, and a couple of different of of veggies and they were all really good. Very highly recommended!

Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, everything is above standard!! Service is exceptional, price is good as well. Will come back to try other dishes

Awesome Taiwanese food, so much better than I expected! It’s relatively cheap too! Taste is well balanced, not too salty/sweet. Love it!

I don't know Why my previous comment was deleted....If you play the game, let's paly...The food portion is the smallest I have ever seen and food quality is the lowest I have ever tasted.The bamboo is canned, just several pieces meat slice, very salty, 21 dollars...Smaller than my hand squid dish, several picecs squid, very very salty, 21 dollars... The spoon looks so big in the dish...The fry rice is a joke, tiny baby shimp I can only taste shimp shell and oily rice...This restaurant is overly rated and is a scam.I have to post to let every one know my bad experience.I also screen shot my post to prove I posted this review. If my review was deleted again, I will post another one.So so so bad...

The place to me was quite an interesting establishment. When I entered the restaurant, I saw a very tight dining area with a few seats. The place was dirty and had multiple things underneath the table on the floor. Nobody bothered to clean it up and therefore I had bits of garbage by my feet through the entire dining experience. The staff was ordinary and nothing really stood out considering the day to be a busy day. I ordered quite a bit of food including the salty chicken, pork blood, beef pancake rolls, a beef noodle soup and their chicken and overall the taste was average. The pancake on the roll was a bit rough but still edible. The pork blood tasted good and had a nice kick of spice in it. The beef noodle had a green relish to to add some extra bold flavors which I enjoyed. However there was a pile of relish on top which made it more overwhelming. Overall the experience had its ups and downs but I personally think that the food can be better and the place can be cleaner. This place can do better than this!

This restaurant has been here for awhile... the owner refused to expand because he wants to make sure the quality of food is maintained. It is run by a husband & wife team together with their other employees- we have been coming to this place for eons. We never had a bad dish even their lunch specials are good, some of the lunch specials comes with their yummy egg drop soup. They have a good & decent menu with appetizers, mains, veggies (seasonal veggie dishes available), noodles, soup. They have some special dishes that needs to be ordered in advance- one of the us the braised pork hock... it is done so well that the meat is so tender & falls of the bone when you cut it. The other is the shrimp with lettuce wrap. These two are our favourites. Their smoked duck is good but we did not order it for this meal. Reservation is a must for weekdays & particularly weekends, staff are friendly even when they are very busy. There is something for everyone, do not be daunted by the fact that most of the patrons are of Asian descent- that means the food is very good!

I've been coming here for at least a decade. As a Taiwanese person, believe me when I say Kalvin's is the best place in Vancouver for Taiwanese food. Most Vancouver Taiwanese restaurants serve more trendy" and street-food focused dishes

Drove by this place so many times and finally gave it a try. Have to say I’ve been missing out. This place serves some pretty amazing food. The restaurant is a bit small so go early if you don’t want to wait in line (or make reservations).
