Westwood Lake

Our favorite lake to head to for a local outdoor adventure. Lifeguards on duty during the summer at first beach. There is a wheel chair accessible path along the boat ramps and down to the washroom facilities. Second beach has a dock to swim too as well and there's an outdoor playground for kids. The trail around the beach is over 6 km long so take water with you. There are some cool mountain bike trails behind the lake and around the power line clearing.

Good walking and some hiking. Easy loop for the family and pets.

Westwood Lake is great for all kinds of activities - swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding. I've enjoyed the 6 km hike around the lake. It's not challenging, good for long walks or jogging. Fantastic views for photography enthusiasts.There are some special trails for mountain bikes.Dogs are allowed, leashed only.Some areas of the park are close to private residences, just don't be loud outside of normal hours.There are two parking lots, spots for disabled persons. Picnic tables are available.Washrooms need some improvement. I didn't find changing roomsThey might have been just closed due to coronavirus, I am not sure. There was no sign available. I struggled changing after swimming in the lake. There were two tiny stalls in the women's washroom, none of them had one single hook for a bag or piece of clothing.

Super clean and gorgeous sand. Was really busy. Had lots of dogs there, all seemed undercontrol. Good clean walking path.

Westwood lake is comfortable to swim in the summer time. The water in Westwood is very refreshing. The lake even has a wooden plank that you can jump off.Don (7)

Very chill and quiet. I don’t know about the water quality tho cuz after swam there, skin swimmer itch for 2 weeks, so might won’t swim there again, the ocean is better I guess. But it’s a very beautiful place for relaxing. There is nice a trail by the lake can have a run there or walk the dog, it’s a pretty chill place.

I grew up a deer trail away from here. Westwood lake is a beautiful place to run, swim, kayak and so much more. There is a 5.51 km trail around the lake. This lake gets over crowded in the summer daytime with families. Parking is free if you can find it. The Canadian geese can be a bother and sometimes the lake gets closed because of a build up of bacteria and pollutants. I prefer the quieter times personally but they’re harder to find too.

I always love going for a walk around the lake.
