We have had to utilize the services of Parkland Funeral Services with both Mom and Dad over the last two years. As difficult as this was for us, the staff of Parkland were kind, caring and so supportive. We would highly recommend!

The staff at Parkland Funeral, especially Dwight, were exceptionally kind and understanding of our needs during the planning of my dad's viewing and cremation. Since we live out of the country, and had to fly in for his death suddenly, and having a short amount of time to plan things, all arrangements were handled promptly and with no pressure. During the viewing, we were given the privacy and time we needed to say goodbye. Thank you for making this terrible time as stress free as it could be. Bless your staff. A citizen of the U.S. drives around 1500 miles to Edmonton...her Canadian citizen husband fighting to survive a 116 day battle in hospital...is not going to make it. Made it to whisper in his ear and hold his hand and say good bye. It's a Sunday morning and I'm alone in a city I don't know. Sitting in a parking lot crying all I can think of is I have to get my husband of 13 years home. Thank goodness Parkland Funeral Services was recommended for being a very compassionate funeral home. I called immediately.. Holiday weekend and a sunday. answering service knew I was in distress and i was so desperately needing help. They kept me on the phone consoling me and reassuring me that they would reach help for me.The next voice on the phone was that of TJ. He listened he answered my questions ...he was just the person I needed. Very understanding of my unique situation. We made plans to meet and he stayed in touch with me to make sure I had checked into a motel and was safe until our meeting. The compassion and guidance I received from him was exceptional. He went out of his way to accommodate my situation. He stayed in touch with me daily making sure I was OK and didn't need anything. He explained everything we had to decide and allowed me to make the decisions on my time. No pressure!My traumatic experience was changing. TJ led the way. It was a blessing for me to have his support and compassion. The special care he took of my husband when returning him to me meant everything to me. I will be forever grateful TJ because you made that event a wonderful memory. Serene tranquil and so very respectful. A positive experience to begin my long journey taking my husband home.I will always have fond memories of Stony Plain and Parkland Funeral Service. Thank you for that TJ.

From the moment I contacted Parkland Funeral Sevices they were very professional in arranging what needed to be done to help with what we needed. Dwight was wonderful to help us with what we needed and made the process easy to understand and navigate during a difficult time.

Some years ago we had both parents together and we pre-arranged all the details with Mom and Dad with Parkland Funeral Home. The staff was lovely to work with, all most professional. I think we always feel we “have it covered,” until the day arrives. Last year my father passed, and I was not in the area to tend to arrangements. However, my mom passed almost two weeks ago, and it is with my mom’s funeral that I want to share our experience, and involvement. These past weeks, Dwight and his staff demonstrated the utmost kindness, empathy and encouragement. Dwight walked us through all the details with patience, and self assurance. He was kind, and I felt immediately wrapped in his warmth from the moment we sat down with him. His calm demeanour, and quiet voice and expertise grounded us, and focused me. I knew we were in good hands, when all we felt was sadness . He stood by our family with a careful eye, extended himself for anything we may have needed. Dwight truly went above and beyond. I said to him many times this past week, you are truly meant for this job. While thank you is rarely enough, I hope he knows our family will never forget his paramount role from funeral home to Mom’s final resting place at Glory Hills. Once again Dwight, thank you so much. Parkland Funeral Services, Melissa especially were an absolute God send when our son passed. We could not have done this without their care, support and guidance. Thank you for taking such beautiful care of our beloved son.

Dwight at parkland was amazing, this was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. The passing of my Mother, Sharon Santos (Oct 2022) Dwight made this process as bareable as it could be. We laughed, cried, and he gave us the time we needed to say our goodbyes. RIP mom I love you always

It feels strange to rate a funeral home, but I felt this was necessary given the quality of service my father, brother and I received after the shocking and sudden loss of our beloved mother/wife. Melissa went above and beyond to ensure the service was personalized and what my mother would have wanted. She listened to little details and her attention to them was extremely appreciated, from going to the back to retrieve a guest book that was not on display because my brother mentioned my mother liked lilacs and the book had lilacs on the cover, to working with me to accommodate multiple song changes to ensure the final version used was the one my mother loved so much. In our time of extreme grief, Melissa was comforting, respectful, and always made us feel like our mother was a person and not just a task at hand. I hope to never repeat this experience any time soon, but if I do, I hope I will be able to work with Melissa again.
