Luxe Destination Weddings

I have been dealing with Luxe for many many years and have always used Christy Beaton as my travel agent.Christy is very knowledgeable as she has been with the industry in many capacities for most of her adult life. She has worked, lived and travelled all around the world and can always recommend a trip that is right for you. She has many contacts at numerous resorts around the globe who can assist her in making your trip a memorable one.Luxe and Christy's skills were really put to the test during COVID. We had a destination wedding planned for late March of 2020. We booked and had to cancel this event twice and finally were able to celebrate our beach wedding earlier this month. If it wasn't for Christy's great patience, resources and determination, I think we would have gone crazy trying to get this done on our own!I would not hesitate in referring anyone to Luxe and in particular, Christy. They are located in Liberty Village which offers some great other local businesses to enjoy after your appointment with Luxe!

I cannot even begin to express how much of a horrible experience I had using this travel agency . I could write a book. They handled the room booking for my wedding party horribly. Everything was extremely delayed . I had guest paying off rooms days before departure date because Luxe destination wasn’t charging their cards. What’s worse about it is the whole experience felt like a scam. That’s how bad the service was. I shouldn’t have to feel like I have to file a lawsuit to get appropriate customer service. If you have to use a travel agency I would say do your research before you commit to one. If you can avoid using a travel agency , I would encourage it.

Terrible service. Booking details were all over the place. Jackie was impossible to get a hold of for any of our guests. She was so unorganized , that we requested to have someone else. I never thought I would say this, but thankfully covid happened and our wedding was cancelled anyway, as I am not confident it would have went very well when we got to the resort. After working in events at luxury hotels ( Fairmont and Marriott), I can say Luxe completely missed the ball on this one. Buyer beware! Go literally, anywhere else!!!

Would like to thank our agent Rita Puglisi for all her advice and assistance in planning our recent trip and all our travel over the past 10 years. Cruises, family vacations etc. She handled a train trip in Portugal for 12 60 plus siblings and sibling in laws that went remarkably smooth - so professional. All had an amazing time. Brides and grooms, do you value the safety and lives of your guests? Do you respect that your wedding guests need to make their planned work income? If so, do not work with Luxe.As a wedding guest, we bought tickets to attend a friend’s wedding. Without our approval, we were booked onto a return flight that had us land at 2:30 am, and not even on the day we paid them to get us back home (and had in our agreement). Not only did we have to commute in the middle of the night on the way home, we were also booked on a flight that departed at 6 am, meaning we’d have to leave for the airport at 1:30am. Unfortunately we live many hours away from the airport and would need to commute in the middle of the night for both of these flights. We were concerned for our safety in doing so as the highway we’d commute on typically has many accidents and communicated our safety concerns and general dissatisfaction. When doing so, Rita refused to do anything at all to improve the service provided, despite many other flights being available on the same date with the same airline. She also communicated that our safety concerns and our lost income are not her problem (despite her being the only person who could book the tickets due to the group booking - we tried to call Sunwing ourselves to change them but they would only speak to Rita given the group booking). She also declined to provide a refund so her and her company literally have your money hostage and can force you to do anything they want as you pay in full 3 months before the trip. My husband tried to speak to Rita as well, and she promised to “try to improve things” but after their phone call, we never heard another word from her.Not only is this company putting the lives of their guests at risk, what kind of “Luxe” company that you hire to advocate on your behalf and (unfortunately have to) place your trust in books you on two red eye flights? They should really rename themselves “Bargain Basement destination weddings”.After treating us in this horrible manner, Rita even demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and consideration for her ultimate client, the bride, by crying to the bride and groom about our emails. Our emails did directly call out the fact of her lack of concern for our safety and shared that she is putting our lives at risk but did not insult or call her names and did not warrant some kind of refusal of service that may have made sense to communicate to the bride and groom. Rita, if you can’t take personal accountability for a behaviour, you probably shouldn’t demonstrate the behaviour in the first place. Not only did she disrespect the bride and groom in bringing them unnecessary stress, she also broke our client confidentiality without our consent. She also lied to the bride and groom, telling them no other flights were available (we confirmed they were with Sunwing).This company operates with no concern for their guests lives and without any humanity. You’d be better off not paying a fee for their “service” and booking on your own even if it’s much more expensive. Bride and grooms, consider another destination wedding provider. Wedding guests, book outside the group package. Atleast you can then make choices to ensure your safety, which they will not do on your behalf. Do not book with them. Travel agents are supposed to make things easier, not create headaches but this has been the worst travel experience we have ever had, and I have been to two destination weddings with other agencies.

We don’t know where to begin in expressing our sincere thanks the Luxe Destination Wedding team. We honestly feel that our wedding was truly a dream come true. From our first interactions, we were impressed with the level of service and the attention to detail we received for our wedding planning. We always felt that ours was top of mind and special.The single greatest challenge during the entire planning process was the discovery that we were having a surprise baby a month before our original wedding date! We found out at the same time that our guests deposit was due to secure the trip & space. We were so pleased with how Luxe was able to navigate this surprise blessing. They worked directly with the tour operator and destination location to seamlessly shift the wedding by a year. In the end it all worked perfectly! With an extra guest!Our Wedding Coordinator was Alexandra, and she is a true professional. She is extremely organized and understood our vision and how to make the details become a reality. She had lots of great advice on where to invest in floral and decor and where you could save in order to stretch the budget in other areas. As two busy professionals, we did not have the time to coordinate directly with our resort to put together all of the details for our guests to enjoy an amazing week, plus the details of the wedding events. We did not want to have a standard wedding that the resort offers in their brochures. We wanted something very personal and very special. Having Alexandra work through the process with us and coordinate all of the contracts and details on our behalf was exactly what we wanted.Having Alexandra join us for the actual wedding itself was definitely money well invested to ensure we were relaxed as the bride & groom and that all of our guests enjoyed themselves! While the resort wedding team was very capable, having Alexandra attend really helped to ensure that we had special handling to realize all of the wedding details that we had planned. From the ceremony, to food & décor, it was a perfect day. The best part was the beach party at the end! She came up with a great solution to end the evening. I can’t even begin to tell you how many of our guests expressed that this was the “best wedding ever”. We had a good mix of everything, from black tie to beach.I would highly recommend using Luxe Destination Weddings. We only wish we could live it all over again!

In January, my husband and I returned back from our destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We spent over a year to plan this wedding and our experience with Luxe Destinations has made the wedding planning process stress free and enjoyable. We decided to have a destination wedding in late 2021, then shortly after I got pregnant. Getting pregnant and having our daughter didn't stop us from planning this wedding. After our daughter was born I was overwhelmed with planning a wedding and being a first time mom. Our wedding planner Tiffany was phenomenal! She took the stress away and helped me plan the perfect wedding while on Maternity Leave. I don't know how I would have done this without her! A huge thank you to Elizabeth for helping us choose the right resort. After providing us with over 20 different resorts and locations, we finally chose Grand Palladium Vallarta. The roof top terraces is what sold me! Tiffany supported us with our wedding budget and making my Pinterest wedding come to life! While we were in destination, Tiffany supported us remotely. She was so responsive and attentive right up to the wedding day and even when we got home. If any one is considering a destination wedding, we highly recommend it and to go with Luxe Destinations to help plan the wedding of your dreams!

The prospect of anyone enduring the ordeal we experienced with Luxe during wedding planning leaves me with a sense of dread. Consider my review a word of caution – steer clear of this agency unless they demonstrate a marked improvement in their accountability and client care. Our concerns weren't rooted in understaffing or the aftermath of COVID, both understandable issues. Our frustrations lie squarely with the unprofessional service offered by Luxe.We encountered bright spots in the form of Christy and Tiffany during the initial and later stages of our journey. Their professionalism and attentiveness truly deserve recognition.However, our assigned travel agent, Jackie, cast a shadow over our experience. Her neglectful communication, dismissive attitude, misleading information, inaccessibility, and lack of foresight deeply affected our journey. This poor performance resulted in about 30% of our guests having to arrange their travel independently. Air Canada Vacations proved challenging to work with and it could have been nice to have an intermediary to manage that relationship. Luxe simple compounded one non responsive organization with another. So now delays from ACV were then delayed by Jackie's inability to communicate until she was prompted multiple times. Jackie's response time to requests often ranged from 2 to 30 days, leading to numerous unanswered emails, voicemails, and website inquiries.Luxe should strive to have a better relationship with ACV to improve Luxe's service.Luxe seemed to treat contractual deadlines as optional, frequently missing their own timelines. A case in point is the post-travel concession money, which took them 18 weeks to deliver, contrary to the promised 3 weeks. Even the internal delay which could have been communicated at any point, wasn't.In summary, Luxe and Jackie made us feel more like their employees rather than their clients. Our communication efforts exceeded 40 hours, and the delays incurred by Luxe forced us to spend an extra $4,000 on last-minute bookings outside of their block. Luxe transformed what should have been a joyous wedding planning experience into a strenuous uphill battle.

Paul was extremely helpful in planning our group travel for our destination wedding in Cabo! Even when Sunwing cancelled all flights two weeks before the trip Paul was able to get us all on a new flight and assist with any special requests!
