Well made takeout sushi. Everything tasted good. Definitely not gourmet or anything but solid for a takeout sushi dinner. A highlight was the soy paper salmon maki which is a fun alternative to seaweed wrappers.

Ordered the beef teriyaki bento & salmon nigiri for take out and it was a mix of highs and lows. In the bento, the tempura was fantastic but the pre-made beef was basically beef jerkey as it was so dry and tough with some dry spots. I could barely chew it. The avocado in the California rolls were brown, and the crab mixture didn't taste fresh. The salmon nigiri was great. I guess its a hit or miss hoping that you to on a day when they have fresh ingredients.

Service was okay (there were only two groups and a few takeouts). Considering that it was not packed, I suspect service can be slow with more customers, as I only saw one sushi chef and one waiter. We ordered the lunch specials, which was choice of 3 or 2 items that included appetizers, teriyaki, and rolls. Lunch special also come with miso soup. Rolls was decent, but nothing to write home about.

I ordered the wild salmon sashimi and negitoro roll and summer roll. Food was ok, but I don’t think I will specifically go here for food. If I am in the area, I might.

Place has gone downhill. When I first stated ordering here you could get a 3 item lunch deal for under $9 Now it's almost $15 and they don't supply napkins or a container to mix soya sauce and wasabi. Too expensive for a 3 item lunch. I won't be back as quality not equal to pricing.

This place used to be a good place But now the food is total garbage. I ordered chicken karage and the chicken is not cooked properly and the quantity is very less. Even the mayonnaise they provide it's just for one bite. Charging good amount of money for garbage food. That's not good.

This is what they call a salmon don… no ginger, no wasabi. Rice is cold and sticks together like it was from the day before. Soy sauce is not the usual sushi soy sauce, seems like those Chinese soy sauce for cooking, tastes very dense and salty. Not ordering from this place again.

Ok, so I’ve held off on visiting Y Sushi for a very long time. Why? Well, I’ve heard many mixed reviews of the place and, to be honest, life is too short for bad sushi.Still, I found myself looking for some new sushi spot around the Edmonds area I figured that I might as well try Y Sushi out for myself to see how they stacked up. I visited in late February and found that the interior was quite cold (even though I was sitting next to a space heater).I started out with the BBQ Salmon Kama and Head ($4.50) as I usually find this is a good indicator of how the rest of the meal will turn out. Usually when I order kama, you just get the fish collar – so I was a bit intrigued that they serve this with the head. Honestly not sure if they serve it this way because they’re too lazy to separate the head from the collar but it didn’t turn out too bad. There were plenty of meaty bits (along with an eyeball – which I didn’t eat) but I can see why it’s not ordered more often. I think I do prefer just the kama by itself.I also ordered the Oshi Aburi Sushi Salmon ($12.95). I found this to be a very creamy dish (particularly from the avocado in the middle) but thought that they used a bit too much rice and the flavour of the sauce seemed a bit off.Overall, the service seemed kind of slow considering how quiet it was. I’ve definitely had better (and worse) sushi items elsewhere and probably wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.
