FYidoctors - Richmond - Doctors of Optometry (Formerly at Westminster Hwy)

I have some systemic health problems, so I have seen the inside of a great deal of doctors’ offices and this one is by far the best. Dr. Gill is not only a great optometrist who stays up to date with the newest medications and research in eye health, she also has the best bedside manner of any doctor that I have ever seen (optometrist or otherwise). She is friendly, she listens to me, and she explains what is causing the problems with my vision. A lot of doctors neglect to explain why people are experiencing their symptoms but Dr. Gill has always treated me like an equal who is capable of understanding my own eyes. Even when I was 11 or 12 and I first started to become nearsighted she explained why it was happening and she explained it in a way I could understand. The FYI staff are also amazing. They have all been there for years and they are so kind and friendly. To me, it is a red flag when I never see the same receptionists twice at an office, I think it speaks to the nature of the work environment but that is not an issue at FYI doctors. Some of the staff will even recognize me when I come in and will come over to say hello to me. They are also incredibly thoughtful. It is my birthday next week and they were worried that my insurance would change when I turned 19 so they made sure to call me and book me in before that happens. I have never been to a more welcoming doctor's office. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Called to find out how much coverage my mom has to fill her perscription, Paul refused to help us over the phone, he said it is only possible to do in-person... strange, how we have been able to do this over the phone every other time! He is not very helpful...we have had great service from this place otherwise!

They are thorough with their eye tests, so try not to be in a rush when you go. Their customer service is 100% worth the time. Every member of staff I met with was friendly. However, I found Warren's customer service was exemplary, and the best I have ever received when getting new glasses. He is knowledgeable about their services and promotions, he pays attention to details, and he is easy to talk to. I hope I won't need new glasses soon, but if I do, I will look forward to my next visit.

AMAZING service from the moment you step in the door !The Doctors are so helpful with answering questions and getting you through the process a quickly as possible . They are ALL so wonderful , cheerful and absolutely no pressure to buy expensive frames .They let you look at your leisure and when you are ready they meticulously measure your frames and face to make sure the frames are a perfect fit . I picked the Tom Ford FT5671 BLUE LIGHT BLOCK and strongly recommend this frame to any woman who have a very square jaw line ,they are so fabulous. I think FYIdoctors got it going on when it comes to customers service. GREAT JOB !

I brought a new optical prescription (eye test done elsewhere) in order to buy new progressive lenses and frames at FYI. My new lenses were designed and fitted by Warren. He is excellent - very precise with so much attention to the details. If you go here (and I recommend you do) — ask for Warren.

After having destroyed my glasses during a fall, I took them to the Richmond Office. I had purchased the glasses there 8 years ago and had annual exams with Dr. Gill.It was a 3:30 pm appointment with Paul. By 4:40, he had ordered my new glasses with a rush order and replaced lens in my shattered glasses with lens that would enable me to see distance and therefore drive until my new glasses had arrived. This was a very positive experience which was appreciated even more because of the trauma I had experienced the day before.

I went into FYI Doctors in Richmond by appointment to replace a nose pad for my glasses since one of mine had fallen out. The receptionist Marilyn asked Paul( the optician) to help. What should have been a 5 minute fix instead it took over 30 minutes. After 30 Minutes, Paul returned my glasses and told me he couldn’t fix them. I then noticed the hook on my glasses (meant to hold the nose pad) was now badly bent and sharp to the touch. When I asked for a new pad so I could try to fix it myself, I was told that he didn’t have any more but would order some for me. When I came in a week later, Warren (the optician who has replaced my nose pads before) said he would try his best to put in the new nose pad but significant damage had already been done; however, when I got home the nose pad ended up falling off and wouldn’t stay on anymore.My husband and I get our glasses here and our son gets his contact lenses as well so we have been customers for quite some time now. I just wish that Paul could have been honest at the start and let me know he doesn’t know how to replace the pad on my glasses and didn’t have any replacement pads for my glasses instead of making me wait and wrecking my glasses. I am very disappointed in the service and now have a pair of glasses I can no longer wear.

Had my eye appointment with Dr. Leung. It was a very thorough and professional visit. I felt that I was in good hands. They also seem to have a good selection of frames (good brands). Staff on the floor was also quick and professional.

I recently took my 4 year old son for his first eye exam. He was a little nervous, but as soon as we walked in the door, the staff were all so welcoming and friendly. It didn't take long for him to warm up and actually enjoy the experience. I would highly recommend this office not only for your eyecare needs, but especially if you have a young child.
