Distinctive Homes

While my experience is not as a customer (thankfully) it was as an interested out of country buyer. Recently I experienced some of the worst salesmanship that I've ever come across in several decades of being a real estate owner. I don't know if I have ever experienced more condescending, judgemental and low-brow techniques than one interaction that we had with one of the female sales people at Distinctive. Without even beginning to qualify who I was or our ability to be potential clients, I was exposed to truly some of the worst snobbery and outright condescending attitude that I've yet come across. One of the most basic tenants of being a decent human (let alone a sales person) is to not judge a book by its cover. The opposite appears to be a leading sales technique at Distinctive. In an era when EVERY client or potential client interaction matters, it's amazing that there are still companies that either don't realize (or worse yet do realize and have done nothing about it) that one of their most visible front line sales people is blatantly demeaning, judging and quickly turning off potential clients (which has to be ruining peoples impression of the company). All of this translating into the likely driving of large numbers of potential clients into the arms of anyone but Distinctive Homes.

Open to giving better review but quality control and paperwork severely lacking. Edit: I own a place at the ledges. So far plumbing, electrical, and furnace have been repaired.

We have recently purchased a condo from Distinctive Homes. The entire process, from both Distinctive Homes and Lori, has been professional, efficient and friendly. Lori talked to us for many hours and answered all of our questions. This is our first condo purchase and she guided us through the entire thing, she was very helpful and knowledgeable. We are so excited to move into our dream mountain home.

We are loving our new condo at the Ledges. Lori was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We had a very easy and quick possession and an overall very positive experience working with distinctive homes.

This was our first experience building a customized home and it's not an easy task! So many different choices to be made but we have received great help from Distinctive Home's staff, their designer and business partners in Canmore like RGO. They have been very flexible and patient with us as we went through change forms for upgrades (we changed our mind more than once!). The house looks absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't be happier. It's a long process so go in prepared and know what you want, it will make everyone's life easier! This is our second property with DH and we highly recommend them!

I went in with my parents on a rainy day, Lori approached us right away and was cheerful and knowledgeable of the area. We absolutely loved the designs; the layout of the showroom was beautiful and well-thought out. We couldn't be more excited to work with Distinctive Homes in the future, as my parents plan their retirement home and my husband and I look to become first-time home owners.

Our experience purchasing a new home from Distinctive Homes was exceptional and well above and beyond our expectations, that were obviously very high for a purchase of this magnitude. We could not have been more impressed with the team of professionals at Distinctive Homes --- Lori Mitchell, Steve Shankorik and Susan Miller were all exceptionally responsive to all our needs. They made sure our move to the beautiful Stewart Creek Community was smooth and a very welcoming experience. We would highly recommend Distinctive Homes to anyone interested in buying a home.

My husband and I are relocating from Ontario to beautiful Canmore Alberta. We have purchased a condo at lookout ridge and are thrilled with the progress to date. The exterior is everything we’d hoped it would be. We can’t wait to see the interior of our unit. Lori has been very helpful in guiding us through the process of selecting the perfect unit to meet our needs. Her advice in selecting upgrades made our decisions much easier. We are SO excited to call lookout ridge home!
