New Westminster Police Department

They have a specialized family violence unit. I needed help with failures in Coquitlam to help my family with abuse and they would not help because the original offence was not in new west. I was not seen for jurisdiction policy" and my family ended up destroyed. Someone should have stepped up. Instead

Tonight i see a shiney new police suv stopping to harass every homeless person on sight. Way to serve and protect boys! Baited one in easy with the finger but he behaved this time suprisingly enough. Woops, wrong account, its darren cullins btw. Yall know me. Most of u have had ur weapons pointed at me one time or another, lol Just another law abiding homeless person being harassed whenever seen. Typical nw cop behavior.

You have irresponsible officers who need more training. Standing in a long line at Timmies on Carnavon Street on Wed Feb 16 5:30PM and one of the uniformed on duty member of your division (about 6' blonde in 30s to 40s, glasses, more heavier/build about 220lbs) standing in line and the gun is barely secured in his right holster. Someone can easily come and steal that from him and this is a sketched out area you have to be careful. I should have taken a picture of the officer and the way his gun was secured. Please train your officers better this is a tragedy waiting to happen.

My wife had to go to the Royal Columbian Hospital Emergency. Where she had to finish at 1:30 in the morning. ( 26th of July 2021). For some reason the train was not in service. A stranger shouted Hi" at her

I feel they have improved over the years. A decade ago, we used to joke about how they could only catch crooks if the crooks showed up at the IHOP. But given how other police departments are portrayed of late, I am thankful to have this group of individuals here to serve and protect vs some of those other thug cops.

Very horrible service!! And they are the reason that i moved out from new westminster. CAN'T TRUST THEM! I was physical assaulted around my house area and called them right the way, they said they would come to my house in 30 mins. However, they DIDN'T show up for the whole night ( I had been waiting for the police officer till 2am. ). The next day I got a phone call from them and they asked me to go to Police Department. I went there and waited for almost 2 hours, then a police officer came out and told me they were TOO BUSY TO SEE ME, they sent me home again and said they would come when they are not busy. At very late of the night, one police officer finally showed up and just asked me some simple questions, and said he would try to reach to the building manager and get the camera record. However, for the next few weeks, I only got two calls from him and was told that the building manager didn't answer his call. And that's it. Until now, I still dont have any response from them and it has been over 4 months. I was treated very poorly and felt like they dont take me seriously. They are very irresponsible for my case, and I dont feel safe to live in new west. I've moved out from new west and i wouldn't live in new west again because of their terrible service. Good jobs guys.

Thank you New Westminster Police for promptly coming to our apartment during a break in. No resolution yet unfortunately but I truly felt they took the situation very seriously despite the person having already fled the scene. Keep up the good work. *Update! They caught the guy!*

They were very professional and very gentle when handcuffing me. They made sure I was very comfy in the back of the patrol car. Also it is very spacious in the cars and very roomy in the cells. Overall they were polite, professional, showed up on time. I would highly recommend this.

Worst police force I have dealt with to date. Too much false power can make a person turn rotten real quick, and the New Westminster Police Department are a perfect example. I have been present through two situations where they laughed about their day and joked around while on the job, & not to mention during serious situations. I think a couple of these men need to take their job a little more seriously.

Unfortunately I have been treated very poorly by this organization in regards to on-going domestic abuse case and have not been protected, understood, nor justifiably validated. Because of on going mental health concerns within my relationship that have been manipulated by my spouse continually for the past 5 years, these men and women who serve and protect are extremely dis respectful to me and are quick to take judgment and validate him without even proper justification. This organization disgusts me and is not to be trusted. They abuse there authority and think it's justifiable in the way they treat people without humanity. Utter disgust.
