Lethbridge Viaduct
As far as viaducts go, this is a pretty remarkable one. It’s expansive structure stretches across the valley below and is certainly an interesting and impressive landmark for the Lethbridge area. 5 viaduct-y (not technically a bridge) stars.

This massive steel trestle over the Oldman River is an impressive structure, the largest railway structure in Canada and the largest of its type in the world. We had fun walking around and much more to see here. Beautiful scenery and lots of parking.

The Lethbridge Viaduct is an engineering marvel that simply takes your breath away. Standing tall and proud, this architectural masterpiece spans across vast landscapes, offering a mesmerizing sight to behold. As a lover of both nature and architecture, I was truly captivated by the sheer grandeur of this bridge. The scale of the bridge is truly awe-inspiring. Its towering height seems to touch the heavens, allowing trains to gracefully traverse vast chasms and rivers below. The engineering prowess required to construct such a monumental structure is evident in every detail, showcasing the brilliance of human ingenuity.

Nice place. many parking options around and picnic spots. Also you will see playgrounds for kids there. Be aware that the toilets may be closed which is bad...

The High Level Bridge was constructed in 1907=1909 and remains the highest and longest of its kind. It spans 1.6 km in length and rises 95.7 meters above the Oldman Valley riverbed. Historically, this area marks the site of the 1870 battle between Blackfoot and Cree First Nations. This would be the last First Nations battle on Canadian soil. In 1960 Indian Battle Park was opened to the public ,offering red shale interpretive pathways, scenic views, public bathrooms, parking, picnic shelters, hiking trails, historical attractions and the Fort Whoop Up Interpretive Centre.

An iconic feature in Lethbridge, passing over four city parks: on the East side of the Oldman River, Indian Battle Park on the North edge, and Helen Schuler Nature Reserve on the South edge. On the West side of the Oldman River, Bull Park Trail on the North edge, and Elizabeth Hall Wetlands on the South edge. The High Level Bridge was completed in 1909 and is the longest and highest trestle bridge in the world. It is 1,623.9 m long and 95.7 m high above the river. The parks on both sides of the river are great places to spend time. The parks on the West side of the river are less developed spaces but wonderful places to hike or run. On the East side of the river, the parks are more developed - Indian Battle Park has picnic areas, playgrounds, and lots of paved and red shale paths to explore. Helen Schuler Nature Reserve has an amazing Nature Centre and interpretive pathways.
