Blue Butterfly Montessori School

All people from directors to teachers working in Blue Butterfly are nice and caring. Having so much trouble finding a good daycare for my baby in Downtown, finally I feel he is in good hands. They are all energetic and wear smiles on their face which make the drop-off pleasant and welcoming for baby and parents.

I love the energy of this school and it's staff. It's playful education with such variety of activities and the kids are so nice and have great manners. Wish I had gone to a school like this.

My son has been at blue butterfly Montessori school for a year and a half, it is with a heavy heart that we are parting from them , we are moving.I wanted to leave this review as I feel it was completely deserved . This school has been a second home for my son and I will always be grateful for it, he went in for the first time at the age of 16 months which is so little and tiny and I was so scared to part from him , they not only made it easy on him and me, his teachers Miss Naïma and Miss Nova were truly little gems, a second and a third mom. It was a very loving environment, always advocating for what’s best for him, taking the time to discuss and ask questions if anything is wrong, teaching setting limits the right way.This is a small school run by 2 moms, their own children are at the school, they have at heart the children’s education and well being and discuss everything at a human level and are very thoughtful .Thank you for everything ❤️

Recommend 100% This is a place full of good people that have a place in our hearts for ever ! Our son has been to this School from 12 months until now (24mo). I was very anxious to leave my little one at first but It was the best decision for all of us. The Misses are really professional and they clearly love their job. Not only they take really good care of them but they teach them to be independent, socialized and responsible. The small ratio allow them to really know them and understand each child and give us advices if we needed it (food, poty training ...). We also had a very good experience with the Supervisor, she is really doing her best to communicate with parents even during Covid, she cares. This School was our second family and now that we are moving I am hoping we will find the same at the new place :)

The school and infrastructure for what they charge you is pathetic. The review provided by Anna is more genuine than others. My kid had faced a similar issues and we had to pull out early instead of full session. For the amount of money they charge you, you are better off looking for some place else. Canoe landing is a much better option if you are able to get it. At least their facilities are bigger and charge half with same food vendor as these guys.If you ever picked up your kids, especially for smaller 2-3 yrs old. You would see them sitting and watching the iPad for better part of one hour of more. If my kid has to watch Tv for 2-3 hrs a day I can keep him at home. The food allergy guidance provided to them is not always followed 100%.My kid had multiple instances of kids hitting (not just once, multiple times with same kid), bite marks on hands and face, bump on a head etc. the only response you will get from Ms Lisby is these things happen. What sort of a place allows bite marks with the kids as an ok thing to happen? A bit mark that last couple of weeks. You will always get a standard response from the management. When asked to watch the video, some mistake happens and video is erased or not there anymore.I would say it is not worth to leave your child here for any reason, unless you are desperate to find a slot.

We had to leave this school mid-year because of how bad it is. The management hid from the parents the fact that they had lost the license given by the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators. Parents never get to meet the principal, it's not even possible to learn his/her name; the teachers take no action to prevent bullying in class; the teachers leave children to watch cartoons; for several weeks, children were given snacks instead of lunch; there is this terrible smell in the building the children keep complaining about.

Our daughter has been going to BBMS for about 3 years, in both the Toddler and Casa programs. The teachers and support staff have been so loving and supportive that we are so sad we are unable to finish the final year there due to moving out of dt. Our daughter has learned so much and really enjoys the activities and celebrations especially fun Fridays! I find that while this is a Montessori program the kids still get a ton of opportunity to socialize and work together. The mixed age classes are also great for kids to support one another and gain confidence as they become the older kids in the class. The facility is well taken care of with zero closures or major incidence throughout all of the Covid waves. If you are looking for a place where your kids will learn independence, get a well rounded program with music, art, stem, and language, while being supported by teachers who truly care this is the place for you.Big thank you to Ms Ellie and Karla, Ms Eva and Ms Padina and Ms Sabrina and the wonderful Ms Lisby for all their hard work, patience, and dedication.

I can't say enough great things about BBMS. I'm a teacher, and I place a very high value on my child's education; BBMS has laid some strong building blocks for my child's future both academically and socially. My child has spent two years here (1 year in Toddler and 1 year in Casa).-There is a strong emphasis on inclusiveness; students learn about a wide variety of cultural celebrations at the appropriate time of year (e.g. Lunar New Year, Diwali). My child has even picked up some Spanish from a few Spanish classes.-Academically students will receive consistent literacy and numeracy lessons; my child (with some assistance) can count to 50. The Ontario Math Curriculum wants students in grade 1 to be able to order etc. numbers up to 50; my child (3.5 years old) is well under way to meeting/surpassing this. An older student (5-6 years old) has picked up multiplication and division (again, much earlier than Ontario Math Curriculum would suggest). When my child first started at BBMS I was a little bit concerned about language development; over the past two years my child's vocabulary has exploded.-My child has benefitted tremendously from learning routines and structure that BBMS provides.-BBMS oversees the fostering of positive relationship building (student to student, and teacher to student).-You'll receive daily communication through pictures and videos of the activities that students are doing.-The physical space is impeccable; it's clean and organized.-The staff are exceptionally professional and nurturing. Wonderful teachers and people who go above and beyond!If you are weighing your options of where to place your child you can't beat BBMS! Most importantly, my child loves going here!
