Cute spot , food is good, wood fired pizza delicious, staff very efficient and friendly. 1 BIG drawback. It's an Italian restaurant WITHOUT coffee , of any kind!!! and the dessert menu is very limited. In a 4 day trip I went back twice. Just wish they had coffee

We had a great meal this weekend, they were very busy but accommodated our group. We all had pasta dining in and were lucky to try their new menu items, mushroom and a New York style sausage n peppers pizza to go also

Very tough review. Hate leaving negativity to local restaurants, but Carbone was so bad it was comical. The food, first off, was the highlight. 6/10, not awful but not great. The burata pizza didnt resemble what you think if when hearing burata"

The pizza has never let us down. We have tried it 6 times now. Great quality pizza, we have tried vegetarian, and my partner has tried the meat options. I highly recommend takeout.We tried dining in once, when they initially opened, the food was great, very intimate vibe as there were only 2 of us eating there.

This was a very enexpected meal for us. We walked their from our room. We just arrived in Nanaimo and had no idea where to eat. This restaurant is typically by reservation only and on this particular night they had it mostly booked for a Dragon Boat racing team. They kindly let us in and explained we might have a longer wait for food. We didn't care. The ladies from the Dragon Boat crew were a lot of fun and welcomed me and my partner in lol The restaurant staff were very friendly and kind. We ordered Black Truffle Spaghetti and it was phenomenal! Cute little place with an amazing menu. Would definitely go here again! The ambience became more romantic" after the crew left and it turned out to be a beautiful date night!"

The pizza was really tasty , crispy at the bottom. The ingredients are high quality indeed. Price was fair, and the portions were big. We ordered the Fungi Pizza and the prawn and garlic with the red onions and mushrooms pizza. The waiter was super helpful and attentive. Will definitely go there again. It's easily one of the best pizza places in nanaimo. We also ordered the salad with figs, which was really delicious too.

From the time we walked in. The staff were amazing and engaging. They suggested menu items that we would have never even thought of. And that started off a truly memorable evening. The food was fantastic, tasty and made with love. All the wile they kept checking to make sure all was well. The level of service was above and beyond. Something you don’t see that often anymore. While my wife and myself are not from Nanimo, the Carbone Pizzeria is something to look forward to on a future trip. Thanks to all the staff for making our night memorable.

Something was missing in the flavor. I tried to put my finger on it as I ate my Greek pizza, affectionately named Zeus on the menu. I’m very strict about salt however, I think that is one of the ingredients that was missing. The next time I order this, close to perfect pizza, I’m going to add pesto as a substitute, and ask the chef to leave out the mozzarella and add more feta. Another ingredient I would add, if you have them is Sundried tomatoes. They hold their flavor better than raw tomatoes and add a sweet complement to the tangy olives.Salting the pan and dowsing it with olive oil before baking is another tip for the chef. My apologies to the chef for this review, if I come across as being arrogant. Peace. I’ll be back.

Good pizza and lots of pizza options I haven’t seen before. The pizza is large so you can comfortably split it between 2 people if you wish. I ordered the arugula and prosciutto and would recommend it. The patio can be a little loud as it’s right next to a major road.

Great Pizza. We order the one with shrimps and garlic to try a different pizza and it was great. We added a little bit of salt and was awesome. The other ones were Margerita and pepperoni. Great flavors, good dough, sauce a little sweet on the Margerita but overall the service was excellent. Maybe a small tiny thing (gift/detail/dessert) for fathers day could make a difference for next year.
