Villa Caritas is a lovely Facility. The nursing staff are absolutely amazing. Our mother was admitted and has been there for two months on Unit 2B, She is well taken care of by the staff, who are very understanding, compassionate, patient and kind with her. This was a very difficult decision for our family to make, but I guarantee that your loved one will be safe and well taken care of.Nurses - Are incredible with mom. They know how to deal with her and cater to what she specifically needs. They are so kind and will get mom to help them on the unit, they do this because our mother always needed to be doing something or help out in some way, they get to know each patient personally. This is amazing!!Andrea - Mom's Social worker, is the most amazing women! She is professional and understands her patients needs and goes over and beyond anyone's expectations to make sure not only that my mom is happy but also the Army" of a family we have as well...Dr. Magnon - Incredibly knowledgeable and will put your mind at ease. She loves what she does and it greatly shows. She has a gift with people who have mental disabilities and strives to make sure they are regulated and keeps the family very informed

I caution anyone considering leaving cash money at this facility for their loved one. My mother was transferred to another facility in late December and the money which was left for her and her bed quilt, which had great sentimental value for my mom, have gone missing. They were to have been transferred and accounted for but this seems to have not been done properly and now there is no accountability for the loss. I've been dealing with this situation for three weeks now with no positive results in sight. They don't need money in a dimensia ward.

Horrible place for people with dimentia. He's not crazy. The nurses always tried ignoring me when I had a question and they lost all his possessions even when they showed us a locked cabinet in which he could never access without a key that the nurses have. I wouldn't give it even one star

My loved one was transferred to this facility from our community hospital for his worsening dementia symptoms though I had read many negative comments and was very concerned we decided this was the best choice for him and I am so glad we agreed! This facility was a very positive choice Dr O and Valerie our social worker and Helen our nursing unit manager were absolutely fantastic!! They listened to our concerns had family meetings, all staff members and care team treated my loved one with nothing but empathy, respect, and kindness and caring he spent 6 weeks with them and with proper medication and monitoring and continuity of routine he was able to come back home to our acute care unit and is awaiting LTC placement he is happy and adjusted well, I only hope if your loved one needs to be placed here you give them the chance they deserve fantastic caring people who do this job because they love it and it shows! Unit 2B is amazing and I thank them all from the bottom of my ♥ The communication with us relieved so many fears and helped us work together for my loved ones comfort and care

I am not someone who usually writes reviews but I felt it was absolutely necessary. Be cautious about sending your loved one here. My father was discharged after two months worse off then when he went in. He was a patient of long term care prior and was sent here for assessment" which I can only garner means sedate. He was admitted with the ability to speak and feed himself and is now left completely comatose. He now requires feeding at ever meal by a family member or attendant and is asleep all day. Despite raising concerns regularly to staff about the sedation

I would not recommend this facility. My mother's bank account was completely emptied out!! And as I have seen when we did take her on outings and brought her back the staff keeps all patients wallets and in a locked drawer.

I'm writing to advise of my personal views of the Dementia wing for this facility.Upon visiting my parent I was disappointed in what I saw. Multiple patients sitting in wheelchairs some sitting and facing the wall which they were pressed almost up against with multiple carers only feet away from them. I entered my parents room which I understand they were quarantined to for a period of time to find that there was nothing in the room to keep his mind active; no pictures, no books, no radio, no magazines, not even a puzzle. As this is a short term care / respite facility I understand patients aren't expected to be there for long; but, if the person is confined to their room for a period of time they need to have something to keep their minds active or else their Alzheimer's/Dementia can worsen that much faster. It should be made clear to the family that they should provide more than just clothes when being brought to a place like this. The staff themselves seem pleasant enough and I understand patients in this wing can be difficult to deal with so I appreciate their hardwork with them and what they do I just ask that they interact with the patient's more often than just sitting around the the nurses desk. Thanks

On November 7th my mother was forcibly removed from her apartment and taken to this institution. When I was finally notified of this action and where she was I became very angry and told them that I didnt agree to this action and to send her home . Which they refuse and enacted the unfair emergency mental health act thusly incarcerating her. When they finally allowed me to see her the next day I was appalled with her accommodations those, who have committed a crime have better accommodations.and the patients in this institution stop being human beings I just can't see how this is inclusive to mental wellness
