It has been over a year since our dog, Jordy stayed with Kate and her pack for a board and train. We knew immediately after adopting our boy that we wanted to learn how to provide the leadership and guidance that he needs to be successful. Kate provided Jordy with a solid base for us to continue to work with him, and she gave us excellent guidance on how to succeed.The board and train was the best decision we made for our dog hands down. The relationship we have had with our dog over the past year and a half since the board and train is invaluable. I would 100% recommend Kate to anyone looking for a trainer to help them improve the relationship with their dog.

Kate has been a wonderful and patient trainer with my dog Coco who was board and trained for 4 weeks. She helped me and my family reinforce the importance of consistency, balance, and calm energy. She helped me and Coco understand her triggers, how to turn off/on play when needed and with a proper mindset in training and spending time with my dog. She taught Coco how to be independent, confident and calm.Kate is great at what she does. She is professional and passionate about canine education and helping others on how to best enjoy their companion. Because of her, I’m able to become a better dog mom and leader to my dog Coco and improve my relationship with Coco for the better. She is always open and willing to help even after Coco was done her training with Kate. She always leaves her door open for questions, statements, suggestions and concerns.Because of Kate, I’m able to enjoy Coco more off leash, be able to bring her to places, and most importantly see my dog Coco just enjoying herself be a dog. My partner and I have had a wonderful experience working with Kate, the head trainer of Collected Canines. We sent our 8 month old Vizsla, Basil, to Kate for a 3 week board and train. She helped address issues such as impulse control, heel walking and offleash reliability. More importantly, she taught Basil how to have a calm state of mind and taught us how to be consistent leaders for him.Kate truly is an amazing trainer. She is patient, organized and extremely professional. Even after the board and train she is always willing to answer any questions and ensure that we are successful maintaining the training at home. With her help our relationship with Basil has completely transformed. We can now happily take him everywhere with us, trust him off leash, and give him (and us) the life we imagined for our dog. Before attending Collected Canines, we sought training support through puppy school, 2 in-house trainers, and puppy day school. Unfortunately, each of these resources provided conflicting training advice and zero results which left the Puppy and us more confused.Our Puppy struggled with leash walking, lunging, cooperative care, nipping, and inappropriate play — dare I say more…Kate from Collected Canines transformed our relationship with our Puppy. Here are 3 things I enjoyed the most while working with Kate.1. She delivered real results and through the transition(s) session taught us how to maintain our Puppy’s training for the foreseeable future.2. Clear lines of communication! She loves to answer questions regarding your pet’s care and provided us with several well-utilized resources!3. She cares and we know this because our Puppy was genuinely happy while he was there! So much so that we thought he may not want to come home :).

When we originally signed up with Collected Canines we were going to do Private Sessions but it quickly became apparent that Luke had bigger issues than we had the experience to handle. He pulled on leash, was super impulsive and had collar conflict. After a 4 week Board and Train with Kate it was like we got back a new dog!With Kate's help we are still working with him every day to improve on some of the things Luke really struggles with but we now have a dog that we can take anywhere and are confident in handling. Kate truly is a lifesaver and is invested in seeing her clients succeed.

I sent my rescued, 2 year old golden retriever Memphis to Kate in May 2022. Desperate for help to ease the constant tornado of destruction and anxiety this very loveable but very crazy animal was causing in my life, I found Collected Canines. Frankly, at this point, I'm not sure if I would have survived if I didn't.Kate connected right away, we made plans for him to Board and Train for 4 weeks and discussed the process. One of the most valuable things from the process was Kate teaching ME how to handle Memphis's new knowledge and made my own accountabilities for his continued success clear to me. The message was as long as I am willing to work as hard as Memphis, we'd be good to go. And that if I let off the gas, he will take over driving the car.When I did my training sessions during the board and train, I couldn't believe the transformation. It was the same goofy, silly, happy boy, but his anxious and unrelenting behaviour was gone. He listened. It was incredible. And he was smarter than me - it was me that then had to kick my training from Kate into high gear to make sure he understood that my expectation was the same as hers.Almost a year later, Memphis has excellent recall, is calmer, is more behaved, walks like a dram, has good social skills, and has retained all his training. I have slacked at times, and he immediately takes advantage just like Kate said it would but the second I get it together, he knows I mean business.Memphis has also boarded with Kate and participated in play days, and he loves it there.Kate changed my relationship and life with Memphis forever, and I'll never be able to thank her enough.You will not find a kinder person than Kate, or a better service than the one you'll find at Collected Canines.

Where to begin... Collected Canines has given both our dogs and our family freedom and peace. Gemma (mix rescue) was so territorial especially after COVID time with us at home. She was aggressive towards other dogs. It was even miserable having guests over bc she barked every time someone moved. Sparky was just all LAB PUP. He was so excitable, and lacked basic etiquette skills. Kate taught us that WE enable our dogs' behaviors without even knowing this consciously. They both now have boundaries, manners, skills and self-regulation abilities. We , as their family, do too! With all this said, our pups... also family members, never lost their personalities or affection time. KATE YOU BLESSED OUR FAMILY TWO-FOLD and MORE!!!!! Best investment we have ever made!!!!!

We knew from the moment we took our rescue pup home that she would need some solid training and are beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Kate at Collected Canines. We chose to have Quinn attend a four week board and train to really address her leash pulling and reactivity on walks. She is a very energetic dog who did not have an off switch and would tear around the house knocking anything and everything in her path down.I swear within days, the difference was huge. She is a much calmer dog who has learned when and where she can channel her energy.We thought having Quinn be away for four weeks was going to be a huge challenge for us, and while we missed her LOTS, we were able to see tons of updates through Kate's social media. We loved having access to seeing her progress and our whole family followed along from home as well! Kate updated us regularly and was open to any communication we needed throughout the process.Kate continued to work with us whether it be by answering a quick text to suggest a solution for a one off question or meeting up for walks after her boarding.We never thought we would be able to have the kind of stress free walks we have now with our dog, never mind being able to take her off leash with confidence. Quinn is respectful in the house and playful as ever when the time and place is right.We have recommended Kate to everyone we know and will continue to do so! We cannot express our gratitude enough for all she has done for us and our girl, Quinnie.

Kate at collected canines was amazing with training my GSD Finley. She truly helped him reach his full potential, before going to Kate he was quite reactive, and pushy. As a puppy he was attacked a couple times so he had a fear of being close to other dogs, we could hardly be 20ft away from a dog without Finley reacting. Kate helped him get through this and since bringing him home I’ve only seen one very mild reaction from him. Finley also had very poor leash manners and very little engagement with me, he would pull absolutely everywhere and anywhere unless I had a treat in my hand. After spending 4 weeks with Kate he now will gladly walk beside me on and off leash whether I have treats or not. He is also now able to be trusted off leash thanks to Kate.Kate was very good at keeping me updated with how Finley was doing and answered and continues to whenever I have a question. When the time comes to get my next dog I will also be sending them to Kate. I highly recommend Collected Canines if you’re looking for a trainer for your dog, I now get to enjoy life with my dog to the absolute fullest thanks to her.
