Just had a terrible experience at this establishment. I called twice asking for a table by the window with a nice water view for our family of 3 on our last day at Newfoundland. To our utter disappointment, the restaurant pictures online turned out to be highly misleading. 2/3 of all tables have no water view, and in fact the whole room to the left is looking right at the hotel parking lot! When I asked for a nicer table, the hostess was ironic with me but you asked for a table by the window so you're given one!" (the table was by the window but right over parking lot). The view into the bay was at a 100 degrees angle behind the parking so you can't see water unless the table is slightly closer to the window. OMG! We live in Toronto and we dine out once a week there to try out new restaurants. This restaurant was just some random restaurant we dined in during our one week NL road trip and I'm not kidding it's one of the best three restaurants I know in Canada.Their menu doesn't offer a lot of options but for the few options they offer they prepare the food perfectly.So sad it was a one time experience though...

Ok so after a full day of hiking in the park hubby and I were pretty hungry. We drove the 12 minutes from Rocky Harbour to Neddies Point and dined at The Black Spruce. This was the view from our table. We had: potato leek soup, mussels, beet salad, and the daily catch entree which happened to be lobster - which came with rice and veg. The portions were reasonable, but not huge. Fresh baked bread was provided for the table. Everything was delicious and well cooked. I’ve never enjoyed lobster so much. We also sampled dessert (cashew tart, strawberry ice cream). The desserts were more sharing size but we ate them anyways :) We finished with specialty coffees which hilariously arrived in mugs about the size of a beer stein. The room is lovely and the service was excellent. We had a reservation - I would be surprised if you could get in without one. If your trip budget includes splashing out on a fancy meal in the area, this would be a great choice.

The food was so memorable here. It was subtle, and really let the ingredients speak for themselves. It was an experience unlike any other place I’ve been.

For anyone visiting the Gros Morne area, this restaurant is a must! We enjoyed oysters, gnocchi, root salad, cod, and the ice cream. Everything we ate was incredible and thoughtfully presented. I cannot stress enough – you have to eat here! Make your reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.

This is a very fine diner in Gros Morne National Park. The searing area is bright and elegant. We were a group of 4 friends and we tried multiple plates so we could share and taste different things. The food is top quality. The presentation was so classy and the portions are large. We tried many things as a group including: potatoes with white onion soup, sea food chowder, Gnocchi Parisian and Carrot splint for appetizers.For tye main course we tried the tenderloin, the lamb racks and the cod.Everything was of top quality and finess.The one thing that I didn't like was thenrice side with the cod, which was bland.Daphne was our server and she was great.Any rating below 4.5 for them would be unreasonable.I know I will come back again.

It was a few years back that we stayed at the Inn for a few nights, but the dinner we had at the Black Sprice was SUPERB!!!!!! Not sure if the breakfast menu was supplied by the restaurant but the eggs, coffee, rolls (even the butter) were all top notch.
