Avis Car Rental

Smooth process, I prepaid, and the staff on the pickup and return were friendly, not a huge selection of cars only a Corolla and Sentra. No hidden charges, first time renting with Avis. Good experience overall.

Our flight was delayed and Avis was able to accommodate us and hold the vehicle. The gentleman who assisted us was very quick and pleasant. Pick up and drop off process was easy, vehicle was clean and had a full tank.

Very good and quick service. This is located at Victoria Airport. They responded quickly when we called from Mississauga and was easy to book a car. When we got the car that was booked for us, there was a little issue of one of the window and the representative was very kind to change it to another vehicle. Excellent service of them.

3 stars for the car and Avis company. 2 stars taken away from the 2 employees at the counter during my pickup. I was excited to pickup my vehicle as there was no line and no waiting. Everything was going well until I disclosed where I was going (Tofino) to the counter clerk (male), his tone was reproachable. The female counter clerk made similar ignominy comments. For example “Would you like to upgrade your vehicle? Maybe you can sleep in car”. I will not rent from Avis at Victoria International Airport or refer anyone to rent at this location due to the distasteful comments. I suggest a training session of professionalism for people representing a brand of such stature.

It was very easy to complete the forms and rent the car. Used the car for some sightseeing of Vancouver Island. Was able to upgrade my car for only $10 extra per day.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The car was clean, a good size and a nice drive- it was very similar to our own. The price was also good in comparison to other companies.

AVIS did a great job. Rental process was smooth as butter. Rental cost was a fair market price. I could have used a little larger car than a Kona but, I was looking for the best bang for my buck - I got what I paid for - affordable transportation.

One of the most affordable options around and reliable car inventory! The attendant who helped me upon car pickup was especially personable and friendly! Would definitely return to Avis and this location in particular!

After the initial rental, I called back and added insurance. I was told it covered everything. When I got to Victoria I was told there was a $500 deductible. Getting the no deductible insurance, cost me double the initial rent. At the counter, I was told I was lucky to get a car as they were giving out vans, because of the car shortage. The Elantra Sonata had no power driver's seat. You had to pull a lever from under the front of the seat to move it forward. Have not done that for the last 20 years. The attendant when we returned the car was shocked at this. No one was in the parking area to show us the button to push to disengage the car out of park. The car would shudder every time the brakes were applied as if we were driving over bumps. It obviously needed a brake job. I am very unhappy with my experience renting from Avis and will never ever rent from them again.
