Westmount Gardens Long Term Care

I don’t know where my last review went. Worst place ever. Interesting that since my father was Form 1’d out of the building due to an ongoing issue with another resident. ….btw the same resident went on tormenting others . The Administrator. DOC, social worker and RNP now no longer work there. Met with the “clean up” team . No feedback My Dad is in a new LTC facility with same issues etc. approached in an entirely different way. Thankful so much not all LTC homes are not the same. Collected 18 months of notes. Interesting “tone” from the same staff members. HORRIBLE horrible Rx. I wouldn’t leave my pet here. If any legal people read this reach out if you think you can help.

I LOVE Westmount Gardens and the staff there! My father is one of their most difficult patients as he is mobile and can be aggressive and the way they treat him is amazing. They are always in contact with me and so easy to work with. The food is good and they have so many services they offer for all kinds of needs. Thank you everyone at Westmount gardens!

From an operations and HR standpoint this place is a disaster. The front line staff do their best but are tired from poor administrators who are incapable and continually treat management poorly.In my short time there I was very close to going off for a stress leave because of the disorganized chaos. Never seen anything like it in my 50 years.

Generally clean, pleasant and well staffed with lots to do and good food served. I am impressed that residents are welcome at the desk , though the only time I’ve seen three PSWs.sitting there, as previously mentioned in reviews, is at report time. I wonder if some relatives know how the day really goes for staff?This is one of few homes I have seen that try to keep wandering residents from invading other residents’ bedrooms with innovative equipment ideas.I agree access to wifi there or computers for FaceTime would be a plus.Keep caring, staff, your residents notice!

Lovely Residents, i just finished my internship there, thank you so much Nathalie a great PSW from Iris! She was my preceptor! I had a good learning experience her! She is definately giving care with love and respectI learned a lot with her!

They treat mom with respect and very attentive to her needs. On the other hand when it comes to visiting her that is a different story. When I go up everything is fine, but when my husband comes to see her with me not so good. I call and make the appointment, no problem. When we get there they ask him for proof of the vaccines, which is on his cell phone. He has never been asked until today. He never brings his cell phone. It seems to me they change the policy when ever they want to. I will be calling administration on Monday.

Excellent Staff in the Daisy wing! My mother was admitted a year ago and she can't say enough good things about the people helping her. I am always welcomed day or night to visit, I feel at ease knowing my mother is living there. She is safe, comfortable and above all, Happy!! I feel blessed my mother resides at Westmount Gardens, it truly is a great place!!

Great communication with Angela and Angie, and excellent caring staff in the Lily Unit. My mother said the food is excellent and she is very happy there. I've heard they even have a small basketball court and bowling alley!

Angela gave us a great tour of the facility. Nice clean pleasant home for residents. The gardens were beautiful and enjoyed by many while we were there. Lots of activities, menu offering two choices each meal looked good. Cafe area was well used by residents and family members. Staff very friendly. Thanks Angela for the informative tour.

My mom receives compassionate care from the wonderful caregivers. I like that this home is slightly overstaffed to what government regulations at set at. The staff is doing its best and is constantly trying to keep up with the needs of the residents. (note to self: petition to the government for more staff in nursing homes NOW and ....BEFORE I get to a nursing home :) ) There is a good variety of activities going on all the time. We love the two courtyards with beautiful landscaping and mature trees. I will mention that meals need more dark green vegetables and more variety in the menu. There also needs to be 2 to 3 more computers set up somewhere in the building now that the computer room has been dismantled to make a library ( Then I could have easier access to engage my mother in skype with her distant relatives, if there is internet access and show my mom emails sent to her from her sister in B.C.). Otherwise Westmount Gardens is a great nursing home for my mother.
