Maple Leaf Self Storage

We have rented a storage space at Maple Leaf for 2 years, ever since we sold our house n downsize to live at a Town Home we need to keep/store some of our belongings inside this storage space. Space is well kept n very properly managed. Highly recommended to people for their good service!

This is the second time I've rented storage space at the Richmond Maple Leaf Storage Facility. I like them because they have super helpful staff, both on the phone and in person. Provided me with a perfect unit, great location, clean, bright. Also pleased with supply of packaging materials available for sale. Richmond location is well situated, feels safe and well managed.

This maple leaf storage location is amazing! All the staff are very friendly, welcoming and incredibly accommodating! On my first day, they drove me to my storage unit in a golf cart, showed me around the storage facility, and helped me with any questions I had! The service is not good. Last time，We went to ask to change the billing to another company. The manager tend to increase the price for this…This is ridiculous. Also，they increase the price every year although we have been here for three years. When we free，we will cancel the rent and never come back.

Storage facilities are all similar, so no wow factor.Be aware that they fail to advertise that there are various additional costs when you go rent a storage unit. They are not transparent in that regard. I corresponded with them in assessing the cost and size options, and not once were the additional costs mentioned.

The unit had some cobwebs and didn’t seem like it was cleaned out recently. The employee couldn’t get their lock of the unit, kept getting lost trying to find my unit, needed to wait for the other employee working to be off the phone before we could continue. So lots of waiting around. The actual storage was fine, nothing was stolen. On my way out one of the employees made a rude comment to me which definitely makes me want to look elsewhere next time.

Henry has been a great help. He explained all the storage options in a very detailed manner, gave us a tour around the facility and showed us the actual storage space so to help us visualize space available. He was very patient with estimating the space we need by asking the type of furniture we have and whether constant access to items is required. A very thoughtful manager!Facility wise, Maple Leaf is a great location with secured access and a spacious driveway outside of locker. We rented a locker on ground level and were glad that the locker space is slightly elevated and thus was not affected by any potential flooding. We were glad we chose Maple Leaf. Highly recommend Henry to help!

Not recommended for long term renting. This place will increase the rent price a lot every year
