A Family Footcare Clinic - Dr Edwin Medina

I was coming to Dr. Medina for 2 years on and off for heel pain. He didn't touch my feet or inquired about the pain. He was more interested in my footwear and prescribing pricey orthotics. Long story short, got a second opinion to find out its plantar fasciitis. I was prescribed inflammatory cream and exercises but since I had it for some time now, injections are needed. I feel like I wasted time and money on a doctor who didn't listen to my concerns. Rather go to a medical professional who listens and works with u, not upper-selling footwear.

Worst doctor I have ever seen. Both the doctor and desk staff were rude, condescending and discriminatory. I brought my autistic son in for an ingrown toenail, and we were scolded about vitamins (which he takes) and health insurance status. He even went as far as to berate us because we weren’t wearing a mask. We will not be back.

I was referred here by my family physician in fall of 2017. My first initial visit was prompt and the office staff was friendly. Dr Medina mentioned he could only help with my biggest issue, and not all the other issues. I had to choose what hurt the most from my calluses, ingrown toe nails, and discomfort in general. I expressed I wanted to walk without pain, have the tears stop when I am on my feet. I was on mat leave and needed my feet fixed before returning to work. After my first appointment I was informed I would have a call within 3 business days to set up an ultrasound, the Dr was trying to rule our any foreign matter in my foot .Days turned into weeks, and after calling three times and leaving two voicemails, I had not heard back. Christmas came and went. I called again, they are not open on Wednesdays, so I left yet another voicemail.I called back in Jan and was told 'I am just away from the office, can you call me back in the morning and I can check, I'll have your file in front of me.I called back on that week

Dr. Medina did a great job of explaining why and how I developed my problem, and how to fix it. He was very knowledgable and friendly.

I'm sorry to have to post this negative feedback. I seldom do but feel it's necessary this time. After I spent a lot of $$ on orthotics they hurt my heel more. I feel Dr. Medina didn't listen to me. I asked to see my x-ray to learn where my heel spur is, and instead he pushed on my foot. He had no answer to why I get sharp electric pain and aching all of a sudden. I learned from my new foot doc that I have a sack of fluid around the heel spur that hurts when it bursts. Make sense now! Medina recommended shoes that hurt me more, and the orthotics were hard and did not allow my foot to move naturally with support. Rather than 'fix' or replace them, he ordered an ultrasound. Months of additional pain I think I could have avoided. That's when I went to another podiatrist and started over. So glad I did! Dr. Sefcik in Airdrie is amazing!! His ultrasound told me a lot about my sore foot and should have been done at the beginning with Medina. My new orthotics are the opposite of the original ones, and instantly felt better! Time to start thinking out of the box Dr. Medina.

My first time going to a podiatrist and I wasnt disappointed. I wasnt too sure what was going on with my feet. Good thing the dr. Was knowledgable and helped me understand by explaining thoroughly to me,my situation. He was very kind and gentle with my feet. The staff there were super friendly to. The desk clerk was very nice to me even though I forgot my health card and the letter I needed to see the dr. The office area was very clean.
