Purcell Family Art Gallery – Purcell Art Gallery | Joseph Purcell and Tela Purcell were born in Halifax and trained at the Nova Scotia College of Art. They made their home in Lunenburg in 1951. In 1970 they opened the The Purcell Family Art Gallery and show oils, watercolours, and giclées by, Joseph and Tela Purcell, daughter Julia, & grandchildren.

Purcell Family Art Gallery
I have three Joseph Purcell prints...one of them an artist's proof and also a lovely Tela Purcel work. My last time visiting the gallery was in the mid 80's on a trip from Winnipeg. I hope to return someday soon ..now from BC.

I was here with my family for 4 hours talking with the lady who worked there, she was very kind and told us stories and gave us tea. The paintings she and her husband had made where absolutely gorgeous too

Purcell Family Art Gallery
My wife and I spent an hour just looking around. we bought three pieces after talking with the owner and we appreciate them every day. public house feel with different people carrying on conversations and even a guitar player practicing. They even offered us tea!
