The Spanish Space

I have really enjoyed my classes with Rebeca. She is an excellent teacher and I have learned so much in the 18 months I have been working with her. I knew a little Spanish before starting and Rebeca was quickly able tailor our lessons to my level and I am now starting to feel more and more comfortable in having conversations in Spanish, which has been a goal of mine for many years. Rebeca is helping me meet that goal with patience and humour! I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn Spanish, from beginner and up.

I began taking Spanish lessons with Rebeca about a year ago. Rebeca has taken me from not knowing any Spanish to being able to carry on simple conversations.

I had no prior Spanish speaking ability but it is a language I have wanted to learn for a while. I decided it was time and just googled local Spanish lessons. There were several options but I came across Rebeca Mijares and she was highly recommended. It's been a year now and I have thoroughly enjoyed the lessons. Rebeca is a great teacher and does a great job reading her students ability and sets the appropriate learning pace. She is also very patient (which is key to dealing with me!) and has been great at working with my at times erratic work schedule. And she has a great sense of humor! Nothing but positive feedback from me. 5 stars for sure!

Rebeca is an excellent Spanish instructor. Our family group includes a range of Spanish fluency, from 'not a word' to some previous knowledge or classes. She is able to adjust her lesson plan so that we all are engaged, participating and learning something new every week. The variety of videos, reading and listening exercises, games, quizzes and conversation ensures that the class is fun and highly productive. The homework builds on the lessons so we are working on our Spanish between classes too. I can't wait to travel back to Mexico and feel much more comfortable talking with the locals, going shopping and eating out. Rebeca is very patient and encouraging; learning Spanish with her has been wonderful and I am looking forward to continuing the excellent progress I've made.

Rebeca is an amazing Spanish teacher. She is very organized with her lesson plans and homework assignments. She is easy to understand and breaks things down in a very relatable way. Rebeca is flexible with her class times as this was very important for me working full time with a family. She uses multiple methods to teach such visual and writing exercises, as well as listening and casual conversations for practice. I have now been attending her classes for over a year and have seen my comprehension and speaking skills improve by leaps and bounds in that time. Highly recommend the Spanish Space :)

I was able to connect with Rebeca through a friend. We now take weekly lessons together. I had beginning Spanish when I started but I have been able to expand my vocabulary, improve my listening and practice my speaking significantly. Rebeca's lessons are very well organized and progress in a logical manner. She is very encouraging with an awesome sense of humor. She provides homework that is manageable and not overwhelming. She is very adaptable to where you are at and what you want out of your Spanish language adventure.
