Awesome place to sit down and eat Chinese food. Lots of space as well, but parking is a bit lacking. Their take out options are very good,

Golden Island Chinese Restaurant
A great little hole in the wall, check them out on Instagram for daily rotating special of 3 dishes for $36. Usually there are about 6 options with other options such as add $8 for fried rice. Portions were generous and food was hot. Loved the pork chops especially, so flavourful and tender. Owner lady was so friendly and nice, I’d definitely go back.

Pretty authentic Chinese food here. Specialities are the duck and oyster pancake that are pictured. Overall, everything tended on the salty side. Definitely worth a try once in a while to try some different dishes than the usual Chinese restaurant, however not somewhere I could eat regularly. AVOID the combination lunch/dinner sets! Order your dishes individually.

Soooo good, original Chaoshan cuisine. Manager is super nice, the food is orginal Chaoshan style, it is not something you can find in general Cantonese restaurant. Additionally, the size of food is pretty large and the price is so reasonable. The manager also gave us free us and dessert. The dessert is amazing, original Cantonese 'Tangshui'. Will definitely come back.

My friend and I drove from Banff to Calgary in search of an authentic Chinese restaurant, and we were thrilled to discover this gem. The restaurant specializes in Chao Shan cuisine, which is not commonly found in the U.S. We decided to try their crab dish, which was slightly on the expensive side but absolutely delightful in taste.We received fantastic recommendations from the lady boss, Eva, who suggested we try the kangkong and the Marinated platter. She generously offered us complimentary rice, drinks, and fruits. Eva's hospitality was truly exceptional, and it was evident that she genuinely cared about her customers' experience.Overall, we were impressed by the restaurant's dedication to providing an authentic culinary experience and their warm and considerate service. If you're looking for a taste of Chao Shan cuisine in Calgary, this is definitely the place to visit.

Great hole in the wall. Do not let the unassuming front fool you, great selections, tasty food (Whether take out or dine in). The rotating take-out selection of 3 dishes for $36 is great, very reasonable price and good portions. Friendly staff.
