The waitress asked my wife if we were ready to order twice while I was washing my hands in the restroom.When our food arrived, she came back and asked if everything tasted OK before we had finished unrolling our cutlery from our napkins.My Cajun Chicken Cheddar Club had a breast half the size of the bun. The chicken and bacon were extremely dry and tasted like they had been under heat lamps for hours. There was no Chipotle aioli and the 'artisan bun' was just a hamburger bun like you'd find on a shelf at Walmart.My wife's Philly Cheese Melt also had meat that tasted like it had been under a heat lamp. It was more like beef jerky than roast beef. The peppers and onions were raw, not sauted. It came with au jus for some reason and that was just brown salt water. The 'artisan baguette' was an off the shelf hot dog bun.Refills for our beverages had to be asked for.The restaurant had 3 tables of people and 2 waitresses.

Went there for a late lunch and the place was pretty empty but the service was still subpar. Our waitress seemed occupied with whatever was happening in the back rather than the people up front that needed to order (or needed more water/pop). The food was decent but that’s about it.

My wife and I are staying at the Fernie fox next door so we liked the closeness off Smittys. The service was top notch, food came out in a short time was hot and delicious. My wife had the hotcakes and sausage, I had bacon, soft poached eggs it was all cooked perfectly and served hot. Our coffee cups never went empty. My experience here was 5 star all around, highly recommend and would return

Ordered southwest eggs Benny. Order came to table as eggs Benny. Pointed out the mistake. Order was taken back to the kitchen. Staff returned with my order about 6 minutes later. Eggs were ice cold and under cooked.For the mixup, the waitress offered $1.90 discount on my bill.Will never eat here again

I’ve had my fair share of meals at smitty’s restaurants and this was by far the worst food I’ve ever eaten. For a restaurant that should know how to make a breakfast meal considering it runs breakfast all day, the eggs were not cooked to order on any dish in our party. We even asked that they cook an egg longer as it came out very runny which our youngest daughter wouldn’t eat, just to have them serve another egg over easy and extremely soft. I ordered soft poached eggs, they came out over and our plates for the entire party had cold food. We didn’t complain, just shared that the food wasn’t to our liking to have the waitress dismiss our table entirely for the remainder of the time we were there. Will not go back to this location in the future and would recommend breakfast at any other place but here in Fernie.

Excellent food. Love their chicken wings and Mediterranean salad! Surely the have the best cook back out there. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. Definitely worth dining in. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are also great and always efficient. Overall, place and food are amazing! Highly recommend.

The service was excellent. The place is clean, spacious, warm, and cozy. The food is average. Very standard Smitty's food. They have a nice array of condiments like jams and sauces you can help yourself to. The Smitty's syrup was corn syrup based with potassium sorbate as a preservative so if Smitty's offered a syrup with more real ingredients it would be better. The cranberry juice here is also very cheap tasting.... Like very sweet syrup based juice comparable to a fountain beverage.
