Sandman Signature Calgary Downtown Hotel

I deducted scores for sleep quality because I only use 100% cotton bed sheets, but it was not the case at the hotel. Pillows were too high. And I did not like having only one piece of a huge, bulky, extremely heavy synthetic duvet. Having a choice of a lighter, cotton duvet would be great. In contrast, I liked having both a coffee machine and a tea kettle in the room. I liked customer service very much - super friendly and helpful. I used swimming pool- a nice thing to have.

Staff was nice; cleaners were great. Location was fantastic. No real complaints really. Rooms had all the amenites. Bathroom was clean and modernized. Only slight issue was the musky smell or smoke. Non smoking place now, but it just smelled musky.

I loved this hotel ! The pool was really cool, it was just really beautiful and well kept, and the location was super fun ! The concierge was so accommodating I loved them, treated my like I was truly a guest the whole week I was there with my company. The fire alarm did go off at 2 am once, due to no fault of the hotel (a guest was smoking inside or smthn) and they concierge worked to resolve it quickly and we got to go back to our rooms in about 15 minutes. Pool was beautiful and fun! Also I was kind of kicking around late one night writing emails because I have trouble sleeping and I have a roommate, and they gave me access to the corporate lounge with snacks and a pretty view. I really appreciated that a lot because it’s hard when you live in hotels and have insomnia, there’s not always somewhere you can go.Over all wonderful service, I really felt like a guest and it was so pretty there I really liked it thanks so much y’all !

The A/c unit is too loud. Need more light in room. A bit overpriced for which at least breakfast can be made complimentary. Stayed for four days and I feel Housekeeping is great. Reception staffs are very supportive and helpful. Thanks for the stay.

The Front Desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our King Suite room was a bit on the small side, but clean with good amenities. The bathroom was small, but for our one night stay, it was sufficient. The bed was comfortable. The sound insulation is not the best, so during peak busy times, I can anticipate it being noisy. The location is convenient if you need to stay in the heart of downtown, and there are many restaurant, cafes and convenience stores nearby. The entrance to the hotel is tight, and parking in the street is difficult. However, they do have an underground parking lot. Not sure if they charge for parking as we didn't use it. The only negative is that they do not offer any free breakfast, which would have been nice and convenient. Would we stay here again? Frankly, we're not sure as there are many other choices nearby. In summary, this hotel is good for business related clients for a short visits, but not very suitable for extended stays.

It was a good stay. We went there for a birthday and were treated very well by the front desk! The pool closed at 11 so we didn’t spend much time in there. The hot tub was lukewarm at best.. we let someone know but never had a chance to go back and see if it had improved. The room also wasn’t the cleanest I’ve seen but not frightening. However, none of this can take away from the great location and the amazing view we had!

This is my first time staying here.- Great location for my needs.- Friendly service (front desk) and my phone wasn’t working when I called so they sent someone up to answer my question.- Rooms are stunning. I’ve never stayed at such a nice hotel. They upgraded me to a kind suite free of charge since they had open rooms!- My king suite had a window all along the entire 2 walls (corner) and it had a mini-kitchen with teas, coffees and more. I was also impressed with the tech in the room (the AC/heat was very high tech)!- Only complaint, took awhile for the shower to get hot.- Very affordable, so I was even more impressed with my stay.- Pool area was very clean (I wish they stayed open a bit later than 10pm, so that people coming back from day trips can use it)Overall incredible stay and I’ll definitely be loyal to the Sandman chain going forward.

I have to say, Jaleah is amazing. I have been coming to the hotel for the last 4 yrs. Whenever I make a reservation, as I walk in, she already has the type of room I like ready. She greets me with a smile and sends me on my way so quickly. I tell friends to stay here and ask for her because I know she will take good care of them. I hope the hotel appreciates a good employee like her.

It was my first time staying at this hotel and it was just fine. Firstly, the parking is not great. There is a very small parade that seemed to be mostly reserved for other businesses so it was difficult finding a spot. The website also boasts that this parking is complimentary" but it is not

I've been in my share of hotels traveling for the military and recreation. This facility impressed me. Regular stuff aside, my first impression of the room was that it was very clean and smelled good. Which isn't always a given.What really was amazing was the service.Got there tired, no pre-booking or anything.Kateryna was extremely effective at her job making the booking process fun and interesting,Then compounding the experience when I asked if I could use a veterans discount, Kateryna spoke with someone and I ended up with upgrades.I think honestly, this was the best experience I've had in a hotel.
