ALRIGHT... LINES UP! TIME TO RUN AND GUN. Our group had an absolute blast with Dale on the French River. His passion for fishing and the outdoors matched ours. And it sure helps that he shared our brand of humor. We beat him up a little... actually, we rode him hard all weekend about his fine net work. LOL. He's a champ. Quite the mix of fish. We caught pike, pickerel, perch, crappie, small mouth, large mouth, and a catfish. And Dale made a shoreline feast to remember. I'll be looking him up again this winter to hit the hard water on Nippissing.

Wanted to take my son on a fishing trip but was worried that my lack of experience would make it a not so memorable vacation so I figured the best way would be to call a guide. This was absolutely the best decision I could have made. James turned our day into a total success and taught my son alot throughout the day. We heard no one was catching anything but thanks to James we had a great catch!! Highly recommended

If you are looking for a day of a lifetime, a private guide with Dale is definitely a must. He is very knowledgeable and caring person who gives it his all throughout the entire day to make your experience like no other. This was our first experience with Dale and will definitely be out again with him as he made it worth every minute. Was lucky enough to have a weekend with Dale, great outing for my dad and I. Dale is a very passionate and knowledgeable guide. Easy to lose track of time on a boat with Dale, truly an unforgettable experience.

Dale does what a guide is supposed to do. He puts you on the fish. My daughter and I had a great day on the water with Dale, this isn't our first time with a guide, but it was definitely our best. Dale was funny, personable, great with my 11 year old daughter, and was willing to share his wealth of fishing knowledge with us throughout the day. The French river is long and winding, book a day with Dale early in your stay and spend the rest of your time catching fish with your newfound knowledge.

Five Stars.Went out perching on April 23, 2022, with Dale. This time on Cook's Bay - Lake Simcoe. We caught a huge amount of perch! Awesome experience. Dale knows every last trick you need to know for a succesful day of fishing, and puts you right over top of the fish. I highly recommend booking FRFG for April perching on Lake Simcoe. Less than an hour's drive from Toronto.We went out on a guided fishing trip on Sept. 13, 2020, with Dale Stevenson, the owner of this guiding service. He is an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about fishing in general, as well as the local fishing spots, conditions, etc., on the French River. Despite the extremely challenging weather and river conditions that day, we caught lots of fish - bass, walleye, pike. For an experienced angler, this would be an experience of a lifetime. Dale is also fantastic with beginners and less-experienced anglers, as well as with kids.We went out again with Dale on June 27, 2021. This time, we fished the West Arm of Lake Nipissing. My nephew and his son came with us. It was even more fantastic than the last time. We caught a lot of fish - walleye, bass of various types, pike, and even one fat pan fish. I can only imagine what an experienced angler could have caught with Dale as his guide! He/she would have had a field day because Dale knows all of the prime spots in the French River / Lake Nipissing area. You would be hard pressed to find someone with more angling knowledge and knowledge of fishing conditions (geography, top fishing spots, weather, seasonal knowledge, vegetation, etc.). If you love angling, then going out with Dale for eight hours is like heaven on earth!

Excellent experience on the middle French River. Third year staying at Wolseley Bay Lodge. Third year in a row listening to numerous guests complaining about lack of fish at Wolseley Bay. Third year in row that we limit out every time we go out and clean fish in front of jealous fishermen.Do yourself a favour and book Dale or James at the beginning of your trip. You will learn about the water hazards (there are many) and they will teach you the techniques and bring you to the spots where the fish are. Why spend your whole trip exploring and catching nothing.And WOW. Treat yourself to a gourmet shore lunch. Best I have ever had. And for our group of 5 the cost of the guide service for the day is cheaper than what we would have paid for such an awesome meal in a decent restaurant.Dale's restaurant just happens to be on a remote windswept island with stunning views that showcase the beautiful scenery.
